Weekly Squadron Sarcasm

I think my time as Crusader Squadron Commander is over. It's been a rather up and down tenure, as well as a fairly long one, so excuse me as I ramble on for a bit. It wasn't an easy decision to make by far, seeing as I've been doing it for well over a year. However with Star Wars Galaxies getting better (and the Space Expansion "Jump to Lightspeed" soon to come), my rising career in the Dark Brotherhood (which will probably stop by November), I cannot find much motivation to continue writing reports on lack of activity. Now granted a good amount is my fault; Star Wars Galaxes is far more fun than TIE Fighter, XvT, XWA, and other games, and a good CMDR leads by example, which is something I used to do.
No doubt my prime is long gone ... I really haven't done much since Supremacy Comp. ended (and we all gave a damn fine showing for such an inactive squad; 4th place, no less!). However, I am not saying all of it is my fault, much less half. I cannot control how active my pilots want to be, and our ones that were active have moved on (Keiran Laserlight got promoted to CMDR and later retired altogether from the TIE Corps, his cousin Vance Blackguard just vanished [probably for the same reasons], and Marcus Caine is spearheading the EH FreeWorlds efforts). The rest of you (and those who have promptly been removed) just don't seem to want to be active, and I really can't make you. Our squadron would have one member if I actually took into account standard AWOL rules, and that member would be me. Maybe your next Commander will milk some activity out of you, which is why I haven't simply sent you off to the Inactives or Reserves.
As for me, I simply cannot retire from the TIE Corps altogether ... with Jump to Lightspeed (the SWG space expansion) coming out late this fall, my activity should improve drastically again. However, I don't think I can stay with the Grey Wolf. When I went onto IRC this week I had noticed my X access had already been removed by our Commodore, which is pretty low if you ask me. Perhaps I had not written my last two reports because I've been sick or injured? I hurt my back real badly at work this past week and have had other things on my mind than writing a Weekly report; and there was nothing to report for a Monthly Squadron Evaluation, by the way.
I have been offered a position in the elite Avenger Squadron where I will take up residence. Once JtL hits stores, I expect to be fully active in the TIE Corps again and serve AES to the best of my ability; Colonel Nightmare seems willing to wait for my activity, where the Flags of this ship have obviously not taken consideration of my devotion and loyalty to the ship. Truth to tell, I have been offered (and begged) to take Wing Commander spots throughout the fleet, but I stayed true to my homeship ... I now see how foolhardy I have been.
To my friends (you guys know who you are), this isn't a goodbye ... just a brand new start. I will continue to hang out in #wingxiii and talk with you guys, for you've been one of the few reasons I stuck by this ship. Maybe we can let fly and be the jokesters we once were when we were young. I have not reached all the goals I have set out to do in my career in the EH (geting promoted to General, earning at least one of every medal from Gold Star down, just to name a few), but then again I still have a year left until full retirement. So I leave you with just one more paragraph ...
To quote Sidney Friedman from the hit TV series M*A*S*H, "Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice. Pull down your pants and slide on the ice."
