Ta Squadron Report for April 8th through 17th 2004.
Hey everyone! Welcome to my first report as Ta Squadron CMDR! I meant to
send this yesterday, but got sidetracked late last night. We've got a fair
bit of news to cover, so let's do it!
SQUADRON NEWS
OUr first week in Wing VII and Ta Squadron is over. Not a bad start, a fair
bit of communication, some flying. Great work!
SSL Round 3 ended yesterday. I'll send the results to you when I have them.
I'm in the mood for a little competition. I'll get back to you guys on that
a little later, once I've got some details sorted out.

Stop BOSS!

Help the EH defeat the evil XVT WoW empire that is BOSS! BOSS has won 9(!!)
consecutive XVT WoWs. Do your duty for the Empire and the Tie Corps and come
to the XVT WoW and stop BOSS once and for all. We have finished 3rd, 2nd,
and 3rd to them consecutively. It is time we made the move to 1st! Go XVT

Internet Officer's Resignation

It is with a heavy heart that I resign from my position of Internet Officer
today. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 32 months and truly appreciate the
contributions every EH member has made to the IO. Admiral Rob Dura will be
taking my place as Internet Officer, and I will remain on staff as an IOA.

Avenger CMDR Selected and Wing XV WC sought!

COL Nightmare’s resignation from Wing XV WC is hereby accepted so that he
may become the new Avenger CMDR. Congratulations to him on this… demotion?
Certainly there were many excellent applicants for the spot, and they didn’t
make it an easy choice! With this change, Wing XV WC is now open for
applications. Please address the following:
Should have some experience with Multiplayer combat.
Must be willing to be actively involved in recruitment.
Applicants may mention any prior TIE Corps experience with positions CMDR or
above.
All of the regular WC duties, including prompt reports, pilot motivation,
etc.
Address all applications to RA Daniel Goad (dazexeter@...) and VA
Khadgar (khadgar1@...).

-Email turnaround of less than 24 hours -Provide a specific activity model
or action plan for increasing Wing activity and morale.
-Must have at lease two references of which one must be a current superior

XWA Skirmish War

The Combat Operations Office is going to launch a Bgroup vs Bgroup XWA
Skimish War this week. This competition will take place in the form of 2v2
XWA Skirmish MP competition. The first round will use the battles that can
be downloaded at The Combat Operations Office Website. Team members can only
fly on one team and that team must be made up of pilots from the same Battle
Group. I will be accepting teams until Wednesday of this week. Email me with
your team now!

MISCELLANEOUS
Boy, it's nice to be a CMDR again! I had to "liberate" my WC's Chair from
my old office before the doors were welded shut. I couldn't lose my nice
cupholder and wearing a butt groove into a new CMDR's chair would have taken
more time than I really wanted to spend. :P
I've been playing Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow quite a bit this past
week. It's funny, as much as I enjoy a nice straight fight, all that
sneaking around is a lot of fun.
I also got a copy of Jedi Academy. Not too bad a game, but it makes me want
to play Knights of the Old Republic again. The Jedi stuff in that one was
way better. Does anyone know if you can switch to first person view while
using the lightsaber in Jedi Academy? I'd love to see myself holding dual
sabers if it's possible.
Alas, cruel fate has stripped me of the ability to play Homeworld 2 on my XP
machine. ATI's current video card drivers and H2 don't play well together.
They also don't play well with the screen magnification software I use when
I'm doing homework and surfing the Net. Sad, someone decides to "innovate"
and winds up breaking more things than the "innovation" is worth.
Innovation ought to be a curse...
The Punisher is in theaters, I believe. I may have to shake loose a little
cash and try to go see it. I saw the old Punisher movie starring Dolph
Lundgren a few years ago. I hope this one's better. John Travolta playing
a bad guy has a certain ring to it too.
Well, I think that covers most everything for our first week in Ta Squadron
and Wing VII.
