Greetings Mantis Squadron,

I have recently been appointed Commanding officer of this great squadron, currently the biggest onboard the Imperial Star Destroyer, Vanguard. I come on with the goal to rebuild and to improve. It is my utmost of beliefs that nothing is ever complete. I am an elitist; I demand much and tolerate little. Nothing is ever good enough for me, and that is why I can command a squadron such as Mantis. I will work hard, through sleep and sweet, and bring Mantis to its full potential, and when the ultimate point of activity is reached, I shall do none other than demand more. I will lead through example, and lead my squadron to great heights.

I plan on revamping Mantis completely, from the bottom up Rome was not built in a day, and as such Mantis shall not be rebuilt in a day, but I will work hard to do so, no matter how long it takes. Mantis has been plagued, unfortunately, for the past few months with inactivity, and I am here to resolve that problem. I plan on taking new initiatives, and I would like to share some of these plans with my Flight Members.

• Reorganization - I plan on evaluating the activity of all pilots of Mantis squadron. I expect all pilots to send me an email with an update on current status within a matter of a week. I also expect Flight Leaders to pass on any important information to me on their flight, and to somehow organize with me a time on IRC or AIM when we could discuss my plans for the squadron in depth.
• Competitions - I am currently awaiting the approval of various competitions for the squadron to boost performance.
• Recruitment - I wish to fill up our ranks, and to also have willing cadets waiting in line who would like to join Mantis, as I am afraid many members will be AWOL'ed, unfortunately.
• Activity - I wish to get more members flying multi-player events, such as the WoW's, this is, after all, a multiplayer ship. Also, I would like to get members of the squadron involved in the Freelancer mod, Free Worlds, which I myself am just beginning to get involved in. Many members of the Vanguard, and fleet in general, are becoming very involved with the game, which leads me to believe it could be a great contributing factor to a boost in activity. However, I still want to see battles coming in as often as possible, and to get more squadron citations.

This is a general outline of some of my ideas for the squadron.

• None, I'm expecting quite a few to come in from various places pending the selection of a new Operations Officer.

Activity

• None that I know of, as I just came into the squadron. Please email me with a summary of your activity for the past week or so, and also, if possible, Thursday mornings or Wednesday evenings so I can include all of your activities in my squadron report.

Basically an initial comp to start off my tenure. IS-BW to the pilot who gains the most FCHG points over the course of the next month, and an IS-BR to the pilot who comes up with the best squadron Motto and Nickname to be used.

In conclusion, I am happy to be here with you guys, and I expect nothing but the best from this squadron!
