Viper Squadron's Report #18, 3/07/03

CMDR's Thoughts

Greetings Vipers, again a week has passed and there are mainly good news and it's definitely more fun to write a report with several good news!
First of all I want to welcome our two newest pilots, LC Timbal who joined the 1st Flight and CPT Psyko Prefekt who joined the 2nd Flight. With these pilots Viper has regained some of its strength and I'm sure Viper is now ready to challenge some other Squadrons and win them!
If you would like a special competition or have some ideas let me know!

Back to 7 pilots means also we got some of our Citations back. Most of you know that I do mainly MP flying and that I'am not very interested in SP battles. Anyway, I think it's a good idea to assign battles to everyone of you who would gain us more citations. Of course I need to know which platform you prefer(and own) to assign the battles to you that you want to fly. In my opinion it's no need to bug people flying XvT battles if they don't like XvT battles, because the main thing is that we have fun!
For me it's not important how many Citations a squadron have, more important is, how they increase. Squadron Citations are an indicator how well the pilots of the squadron work as a team and teamwork is important!

Next thing is communication. You can meet me and other people in #wingxiv (IRC undernet) and several other channels and have a nice chat about this and that. It's a funny thing and helps to get to know each other. Another thing are the MessageBoards, they are there to read and post. Of course you don't need to read all of them, but the wing related and squadron related MB should be visited once in a while.
No need to say that it's more fun to post something, if there are more people who reply.

There are many wingwide competitions on right now, and they are worth participating in. If you don't like shiny medals, well, that's no reason why not to participate, coz the more we participate, the more happier is our COM and thats a good thing!
So read the competiton section carefully and look if there is something interesting for you.

After some weeks with only one Flight Leader in Viper, I found a worthy person to do the job. Congrats Lieutenant Birch Sullivan to your new assignment to Flight Leader!!

Competitions

Wing Competitions

CR Race:(takes place every month)
At the start of each month the COM will record the CR points of each pilot, and at the end of the month the COM will record the CR points of each pilot. The pilot with the most CR points gained will be the winner for that month! This will be like a MP ladder where the more MP activity you have the more likely your chances to win!(1st gets IS-SW, 2nd IS-BW)

FCHG Race:(takes place every month)
Each month the COM will record the starting FCHG points of each pilot. At the end of the month the COM will record the ending FCHG points of each pilot, and then will declare the 1st and 2nd place winners. This will be a form of a ladder competition, so the more flight activity you have the better your chances to climb the ladder and win!(1st gets IS-SW, 2nd IS-BW)

Fiction:(from 2/23/03 to 3/22/03)
The COM and Wing XIV Commander are seeking new storylines to adapt as plotlines for custom battles to be added to the EH Battle Center. Fiction should be restricted to the Intrepid and/or the ASF in general. Use of other EH authorized Ships is permitted provided they are only background and not the primary component of the story. Fiction should be a minimum of 10 pages in length.(1st gets IS-SR, 2nd IS-BR)

Training:(from 2/23/03 to 4/5/03)
Each week one of the six XvT Single Player Training Missions will be assigned to the Intrepid pilots to fly. They will submit a custom pilot file to the COM by the deadline given and the Top 1st and 2nd place pilots will be awarded medals for their performance. At the end of the six week basic training cycle the pilot that has won the most 1st place victories will be awarded an IS-SW! The purpose of this competition is to bring back the basics of SP flying and help increase the Intrepid's battle readiness and combat effectiveness!( IS-SW for Best pilot; IS-BW for Runner-Up. IS-SW for pilot that achieves the most 1st place victories during the training cycle.)

Intrepid vs Immortal MP Marathon:(from 2/24/03 to 3/10/03)
The ISD Intrepid and ISD Immortal will face off in a two week MP marathon where pilots from each Ship will setup and fly 1v1 and 2v2 matches. Matches must be made up of pilots from both Ships, and ALL matches must be reported to RA Wil Striker (wilstriker@kc.rr.com) and VA RogueWing (roguewing25@yahoo.com). Awards will be given for the Top Pilot and Runner-up in the 1v1 and 2v2 categories. Matches may be flown during authorized EH MP Competitions as listed on the Combat Operations Calendar, or at other times agreed upon by pilots from both sides.( IS-SW to Top 1v1 MP pilot; IS-BW to Runner-up 1v1 MP pilot. IS-SW to Top 2v2 MP pilots (2); IS-BW to Runner-up 2v2 MP pilots (2))

I heard on IRC that Wil complained that nobody is participating in the MP Marathon, so good chances to get some medals there!

* We need more participation in the Intrepid vs Immortal MP Marathon. Till now I am the only one who participated and due to the fact that I lost my match(*sigh*) the Immortal is leading and might win. So please, try to get a match to support the Intrepid. Matches can be flown out of comptimes, means 24/7!! Mail VA RogueWing and RA WilStriker and the pilot you flew against the score. If you are not sure how to set up a match, well just go to #isd_immortal and ask for a match.
