Squadron News

- Today is the deadline for the new squadron homepage regulations
given out by FO and IO. Although our webmaster Algaron had a quite
busy RL recently, he managed to update our site in time to match all
the requirements. Thanks for your good work, Algy.

Last time I checked it didn't work (ack!) but I figured out that it
was just Minos being down once more. (Pooh!) :P
Well, I hope it will be up and working again soon.

- Algy went on a one week holiday, and also Astarosta took a little
break until monday. So it's kinda silent around here atm. :)
But as you know, Algy annnounced before his leave that he was
planning to run another session of the famous and popular Wing II
Pilots League in case there would be enough interest in it. From
what I've read so far, I have no doubt that it's high enough. :)
So all heat up your engines and get prepared for this event.

- Another very good piece of news: Lieutenant Shimir Sheerelk, former
Kappan and currently inactive, has announced his intention to rejoin
the dragons. For those who don't know it, Shimir was a Kappa pilot
from June to November 2002, when he had to be declared AWOL
because his busy RL prevented him from being active.
Before that, though, he was highly active and eagerly flying, so his
return will be a great benefit for Kappa.
Let's hope the process of Shimir's "reactivation" will get done
fast, so that Kappa can profit from his flying skills in the
upcoming W2PL.
I have already put Shimir on the recipent list for the report, so he
knows what's going on in Kappa. :)

- TAC hits 3000 FCHG! (AD Marcin Szydlowski)
Yes! Finally, after over 3 years, I have 3000 FCHG points. It was
one of my career goals. Also, I have new battles and missions for
you :)

- Older TIE'95 patches updated, Clk/F released for XvT (AD Ender
mBind)
I've updated the older patches for TIE95 to add amongst others
custom OPTs (The craft now actually look like they supposed to) and
custom names in-flight. This has been done already to the A-9
Vigilance, Cloakshaped Fighter, TIE Dragon, TIE Phantom Mk.2 and TIE
Scimitar, the TIE-IW patches will be next.
Besides these, I've also released the new Cloakshaped Fighter patch
for XvT. :)

All these patches are available from the Patch Archive at the
Science Office Site - give them a try:)

- SquadFirst Project Released! (FA Ari)
The Internet Office is pleased to announce the release of the
SquadFirst Squadron Homepage Template, coded by our very own Alex
Foley. After a little bit of delay, we've finally worked out all the
bugs (we think) and you can now download the package, complete with
full instructions at http://squadfirst.minos.net. If you find any
bugs, please report them to FA Ari.

On a related note, the Internet Office is deeply sorry to see IOA
Alex Foley resign this week due to lack of time available for IO
matters. He served the IO loyally, and went from a simple HTML coder
to a skilled PHP coder in months within the IO. He will be missed by
the entire staff.

- 10 New Patches for TIE Fighter ('95) Released (AD Ender mBind)
I've made new patches for TIE95 to level it with the new releases
for XvT. This means you can now have the TIE Vanguard, TIE Drone,
TIE Assault, TIE Protector, K-Wing, I-7 Howlrunner, Spectre Advanced
Missileboat, TIE Experimental Mk.1 and TIE Sentinel\Shadow in TIE'95
as well... And I added the TIE Phantom (Mk.1) already to TIE'95.

All these patches are available from the Patch Archive at the
Science Office Site - give them a try:)

For our wealthier members, the Omega Squadron Store has opened up

- Wing VIII WC Appointed (FA Priyum Patel)
