- The deadline for all the squadron homepages to match the new FO/IO
standards has apparently extended to one month, which gives us three
more weeks. Dedaline is now March 1st. Still, I guess it would be
better to get it done soon. Algy, please let me know how it's going.

- This week saw the first mission assignment for the Sov wargame.
Stele wasn't sure about the deadline, it's either today or monday.
Still, the mission is easy, so you all should be able to fly it. See
orders section for more.

- Astarosta earned his third echelon to the Order of the Vanguard last
week. Congrats, old fart. :P
That statue-request is denied though... or did you forget that there
already IS one, blocking our main corridor? :P
A second one would be tolerable only for a real intergalactic hero.
Me, for example. :P

The deadline is unsure... but as the mission is easy, please give it
a try and submit asap!

- Battle(s) of the Month of February have been given out. Fly
TIE-TC 183 (Defection of Kusanagi, attached)
XvT-TC 31 (Pirate Scouts)
XWA-TC 24 (The History of the SSSD Sovereign)
until February 28th, and submit your pilot file to LC Philo
(cnwilde@pacbell.net) and AD Proton (hullbreach@warpmail.net) and
me, as always (EH_Tempest@gmx.net).
Flying activity has been low in Kappa recently. There haven't been
any competitions for two reasons:
First, I though this wargame would bring much more action than it
does so far. And second, I'm kinda busy with exams atm.
Still, we must get some things going. I'll therefore consider this
battle of the month (TIE section) as a flying test, so that I can
see if we are able to take on another squadron soon.
So fly that battle.
There are no excuses accepted apart from a blown-up computer. Only
exception is Algaron, as his top-priority is our homepage.

- Tactical Office Regulation #1 (AD Marcin Szydlowski)
Due to recent problems and complaints on our battle I've decided to
order as follows:

Destruction of EH ships listen in Fleet Manual is forbidden (unless
FCHG or CAB)
All EH vs EH battles are forbidden, unless some conditions met.
FCHG/CAB battles, when we loose IW ship, must be approved by IWTAC,
DB ship by SHW, and so on.
You can find more details here. This does not affect battles already
released and those in beta queue.

- New historical records feature (SA Astatine)
The historical record page now lists your medals, awarded after
September 2000, along with the reason and who awarded it.

- ASF Supremacy Competition Results (FA Priyum Patel)
ASF SC V concluded recently, this year's winners are:

Top Ship: ISD Intrepid
Top Squadron: Diamondback
Top Pilot: Commander Tvan'Oris

Intrepid for retaining it's Flagship title and to the crew of the
ASF on a well fought competition.

- Sovereign Squadron League (AD Proton)
The big announcement from the flagship this week is that the SSSD
Sovereign League 2003 will begin March 15! That's right -- one of
the best competitions in the history of the Emperor's Hammer is
being reborn. And this time it will not only include the usual TIE
competition, but we're introducing XWA and XvT single-player
divisions too! I have appointed LC Todbringer, a longtime Sovereign
pilot and veteran of the previous Sovereign League seasons, to head
up the competition. He will be assisted by MAJ Artys, another top
veteran, and perhaps other pilots. They will handle the day-to-day
operations and record keeping, and I will be on hand throughout to
assist them and help resolve any problems or disputes. As in its
previous incarnations, the Sovereign League will run through a
regular season, with squadrons fighting for post-season playoff
positions. Each round will last two weeks, with pilots flying
assigned free missions. The surviving playoff teams will fly full
battles in several rounds of elimination. The winning squadrons will
receive many honors, and the winners of the individual top-gun
contests will receive medals and much recognition. I'm also excited
to announce that the Sovereign League will be open to all squadrons
in the TIE Corps! The squadrons of the flagship will be proud to
host fellow squadrons from throughout the corps that also desire to
participate. Watch for the SSSD Sovereign League 2003 "Season
Primer" memorandum within the next week or two. In the meantime, you
all know what to do: Get ready to fly your flightsuits off!! :)

- Colossus Commodore Appointed (FA Priyum Patel)
Congratulations to General Indaro who has been promoted to Rear
Admiral and Commodore of the ISD Colossus.

- Modified Strike Cruiser for XWA released (AD Ender mBind)
The Science Office has released a patch to add the Modified Strike
Cruiser (M/SC, the "Rebel Interdictor") to X-Wing Alliance. The OPT
was made by CM Tim, patch by myself and AD Darkhill.

You can download the patch from the IW section in the Patch Archive
at the Science Office Website. (oh.. and thanks DS for testing;P)

- New Battlestats Hosted Comps held in the Zone! (VA Kyle Katarn)
For those in our battlegroups who would like additional training in
WoW atmosphere, LC Dax Corrin and I have entered us in 4 new WoW
events that Battlestats.com is offering.

1: XWA Week of War XLVI and XvT Week of War LVI. You know all the
rules.
2: Cloakshape Calamity: This is an XWA based war where only
Cloakshape fighters will be allowed, all other matches will be
deleted. EH members WILL be allowed to fly against each other.
This will give us an opportunity to fly something other than the
typical T/I matches we currently predominately use. Also, more
opportunities to earn LoCs and DFCs. Please get the word out to
all who own XWA for this one. War dates are this Friday, February
7th till Friday, February 14th.
3: Firespray Fetish: This is basically the same as the above, with
Firespray craft the only allowed craft, all other matches will be
deleted. Same rules apply, players from the same club WILL be
allowed to fly each other. Dates for this event are February
14th-21st.
4: For our XvT pilots, the Assault Gunboat Galore II starts this
Friday. Dates for war are Feb 7-14th, same rules as XWA
cloakshape and Firespray wars. EH members are allowed to fly each
other. Only Assault gunboat matches are allowed, all other
matches will be deleted.

I hope this gives our membership an additional opportunity to hone
their MP skills so we may improve for the 2 main WoW events.

- Colossus COM Steps Down (FA Priyum Patel)
Vice Admiral Absolut Vodka has decided to step down as the Commodore
of the ISD Colossus and take over command of Pi Squadron. My thanks
and gratitude to him for all the hard work he put into his position.
A new COM will be announced shortly - do not send applications
unless asked to.

- Missions Creation Wars! (AD Marcin Szydlowski)
Tactical Office is proud to announce you greatest mission creation
competition ever, called "Mission Creation Wars". All rules and
details can be found here But first you need to sign up, emailing me
and my Command Attaché. Title your email "Mission Creation Wars".
Remember. There are great medals to win, but also you will have to
face best mission designers of EH :)

- Tac Competition #3 & TACA sought (AD Marcin Szydlowski)
This time I have something for people with graphics creation skills
(again :P). All details can be found here. Try to be quick :)
Also I am looking for new TACA. This person will be responsible for
creation different graphics for Tactical Office. Good awards for
hard work. You must be familiar with creation of logos, backgrounds,
layouts for webpages and banners. No other skills required, but HTML
knowledge would be ok.
