| Happy New Year Scorpion!!! I hope everyone partied hard and slept little. I myself have been busy playing as much as I can. I know also that quite of few of you have been active as well. Scorpion's LoC and DFC count has been growing nicely and also or collective FCHG ratings have been going up nice too. I'm sad to say though that since I was the only guy to fly the competition I set up for us (XWA-TC #7 anybody...), I won. I managed to beat the top score for a mission of the battle and came real close to beating the battle score too, if that's any consolation to ya, it would have been hard to beat...but not impossible. Next time if I have a comp, I'd like it if someone else played it. We also have a new competition that we all need to participate in...it's SC 5! Let's show why the Vanguard is the top ship! Now on to the report! |

10 minutes after sending out the request for help, the Vanguard hadn't shown up...no squadrons had shown up either. The flight was looking beat, each member had a large number of kills but they all had depleted their missiles and chaff. However, the rebel ships were still coming and coming with a vengence. They wanted to capture a ship, any ship, so they could interrogate the pilots. They needed them, they wanted them, and would stop at nothing to disable them. Scorpion had taken out one of the interdictors but the rebels had placed all their resources to cover the remaining interdictor. Then, the inevitable happened...one scorpion fell to the blue bolts of an ion cannon. "Guys! We've got to keep Ultima out of ennemy hands! Give em everything you've got and concentrate on any and all y-wings and starchasers!" Blastfire yelled over the com. "But be carefull, they have one of us, they may bot need any more of us, so their mission may change to destroy, not capture." The last three functionning T/Ds formed a column and took out 10 y-wings before another T/D fell, this time it was Glorick. The interdictor began launching Assault transports. "Vallyn, we've got to take out those transports! Re-distribute shields to full front and concentrate all fire on the towing connectors. Kill em all, and watch your back Vallyn" Blastfire said. As the last 2 T/Ds were finally overtaken, they had managed to take out 46 rebel starfighters, 2 transports and 1 interdictor. A great effort that seemed futile at the momment. But just when all seemed lost, 8 T/As were pulled from hyperspace. It was the remaining Scorpions, with the Vanguard close behind. "Attention rebel craft, this is CMDR Strahd of Scorpion Squadron, pull back and disengage, or face the wrath of Scorpion and the ISD Vanguard. We have 2 squadrons getting prepped for launch and will be out in a matter of minutes. Now we can duke it out here just to see you die, or...you can fall back and live to fight another day." Strahd said in a calm and menacing tone. It seemed like it was going to work, the rebels looked like they were breaking off, but then...4 A-wings launched from the Interdictor. A rebel officer responded to Strahd's demand. "If we can't take your pilots as prisonners, they will be terminated, either you call off your ships, or you loose your ships, we are prepared to loose our A-wing pilots for this mission, our pilots understand that they probably will not return. So call off teh attack and let us take our spoils and you will know your pilots will be given a full trial in rebel court. Tried for treason and sent to a prison camp...and not the cold death of space. Your choice commander." "Well Tarkin, what do you wish us to do, I'd go for em, they are dead anyway in teh hands of rebels..." Strahd asked. "Take em out, we are launching missile boats to take out that interdictor and more T/Ds to help in the intercept...Good luck major, your men's lives are in your hands!" Tarkin mentionned. Strahd switched over to the squad's secure channel, " Take em out guys, no chatter, just do it fast and do it good! There can be no errors this time, if we screw up, we loose men...so let's make it happen!" |

Well, as previously mentionned, I won teh squadron comp since no one flew in it. I hope next time I can get more peeps involved.
No fiction from anyone yet...C'mon! I'd at least like to know if anyone is actually reading my fiction at least. SC 5 is on, let's get active! If you do anything such as graphics or fiction, please let me know so I can rep everything to the appropriate people so we can get an accurate count on ALL activity. I flew MAJ Glorick's XWA battle. It's a great battle...Go and fly it guys! I want it to be on our squadron citation list by the end of the month. THIS IS AN ORDER and I'm not kidding. If you do ANYTHING, I want this battle flown by ALL members of Scorpion! That's about it for the news section, now on to activity! |
