Hey Report # 56 (2003-03-15)

This report was submitted by LC Josh Popelka

Hey Squadron Report for March 9th through 15th 2003.

Hey Hey! Time for another Hey Squadron Report. Been a fairly quiet week, but we do have some news, so let's do it!

SQUADRON NEWS
-------------

We've lost a member, COL Osan'gar to the Aleth CMDR position. :) Congratulations and good luck!

I've been thinking about that graphics competition I proposed earlier this week. If I run it, it'll probably be a graphic/graphic&caption contest. That way, just about any picture could be submitted, just so long as it doesn't violate any rules or has a funny caption for it. Hey, I can use my pic too! :P

I seem to remember in Ash's last Wing Report that she wanted everyone to evaulate their superiors. Get those evals to her by tomorrow sometime if at all possible. Be honest, if there's something I am not doing, let her know.

Hmm, other than that, I can't think of anything.

WING NEWS
---------

As I stated in Squadron News, COL Osan'gar has been appointed the new Aleth CMDR. Again, congratulations! Os did a great job as Hey CMDR way back when, and I know you'll do a great job with Aleth.

LC Aeishline Strathaven is kinda under the weather, so her Wing Report might be delayed some. For more Wing News, read her next report. :P Feel better soon!

FLY! As you can see above, we're down to two (2) citations! I want more!

Communicate! I haven't heard from some of you in awhile. Kinda lonesome. :P Send me, the Squadron or the Wing, e-mail. Just don't spam the Wing List. Remember, more than one word or sentence please.

Take IWATS Courses! They look good on your ID Line and you learn stuff.

Write fiction, create graphics! I need stuff for the squadron website!

Have fun!

MISCELLANEOUS
-------------

Well, UWMC is on Spring Break. Probably a good 85 to 90% of people in the dorm where I live are gone. Most of the Tech students I hang out with are gone other places too. Not an entirely bad thing, I'm broke pretty much, so I can't party, but it's too blasted quiet here! I've listened to most of the music on my computer already and can't think of anything new to download. Any ideas? Pretty much anything is good, except ICP (Insane Clown Posse), those guys are scarier than KISS ever was. Evil clowns....*shudder*. Not too much into chick music either, I have an image to protect after all (OK, it's mostly just in my head, but that's where it counts most :P).

I've even tried to better myself somewhat this week. A couple of girls in the Educational Interpretting(sp?) program at the Tech were teaching ASL (American Sign Language) a couple nights ago. I went, mostly because I catch a ride to school with one of 'em and my partner in Systems class is deaf (one of the girls' boyfriend). It was interesting. Picking it up was a bit difficult, they were moving kinda fast and I was at an angle so seeing the finger positioning was a bit difficult, but my partner was helping me out. I can say with some confidence that I remember a few important phrases that I can use when we're working on our project: "I need a break!" and "I need a drink/pop." and "Slowly learning." God, I'm in the wrong program... All the cute girls are in Interpreting... Bad, bad Josh! :P

Thanks,

Lieutenant Colonel Josh Popelka
