CMDR/MAJ VinDoros Reporting in for Vampire Squadron, April 25th 2003

Squadron News:

Another good week here in Vampire Squadron. Big congrats to LT Tek Selkirk, who is now the FL of Flight 3! I've moved Mosh(and his Gundark) to flight 1, under me. I've submitted Vampire's Round 3 Submissions for the Sov Squad League. Great work to all those who submittted, which was everyone 'cept Eriond, due to his hardware problems. I expect we'll do well in round 3 :) A WC comp, Round 4 of the Sov Squad League, and a new Comp by RW in the Status/Orders section! Woohoo! Lots to do! SL Richthofen was awoled this week. Nobody had heard anything in a while. Wherever he is, i hope he's ok. But with him leaving, our citations shot up to 66! Woohoo! Just so you guys know, i'm shooting for 100 citations.

Other News:

GN Badlands was recently "abducted" by the Immortal Mascot Monkeys. The day after he was reported as missing, security cameras caught Mosh's Gundark leaving the General's quarters, wearing pink knee-high stockings. We're still not sure where those came from....maybe we don't wanna know.

Squadron Status/Orders:

Round 4 of the Sov Squad League has been released! The assigned mission is XWAF-98 Operation Divide and Conquer: Part 1(attached). The due date for these is Friday, May 9th! Let's continue to shine in this competition!

Operation Monkey Mayhem:

The Wing Commander of Wing XI has been taken hostage by the Monkey Mascots of ISD Immortal. The hold him ransom as shown

here : http://www.minos.net/~badlands/monkey1.html . This operation will require planning and so Phase 1 will be the creation of a

mission for rescue of the WC (we won't give in to terrorist demands). This can be in teams of up to 3 people from anywhere in the Wing.

Phase 2 will then involve the pilots carrying out the top mission designed. During this we will need something written down to remember

this so a runon story on the wing messageboard will take place with an award for best post, limits are 2000 words per post.

Lots of medals up for grabs so don't dawdle Phase 1 begins now missions suprisngly are to be built for XWA. OPTs and cutscenes are allowed

along with sounds but try and keep things down if you go the whole hog (size wise that is

). Missions are due in on the 4th of May to give you

plenty of time to use your skills. I'll start the runon in a couple of days and that'll run until the end so think how to stretch it out

. Flying will be

for a week after judging and bug testing is complete on the missions created so expect us to run over the end date of the comp. So to all good

RogueWings Immortal Strategy Wargame!

This competition is still in the preliminary process. A few minor rules need to be worked out, but from the proposals/rules i've seen so far, this could be a lot of fun! Let's hope this gets released soon.

Final Thought:

We're kickin butt, takin names, and holding our own as far as activity goes. I know that we're not uber flying, and that's ok. Everyone is staying busy, and trying to submit something each week, which is very appreciated. And our performance in the SSL has been nothing short of extraordinary. Now that Vampire is establishing a name for itself, i'll be looking tentatively into some recruitment...I wanted to make sure i'm taking care of the pilots i got first, before worring about any that might be added :)
