SQUADRON NEWS

• Another week down the tubes for Hornet.  What's wrong with you people?  Don't you miss the roar of your Tie's engines?  The fiery deaths of your prey?  The comeraderie of your fellow squadmates?  The "Medal Awarded:" emails from the Operations Office?  A couple of you really need to contact me soon or you'll be AWOL'ed in the next couple of weeks.

• They say actions speak louder than words so I'm switching tactics.  I am done moving, so from now on I will be setting an example for you all rather than just type away from my Commander's office each week begging for activity.  I bet the six of you combined won't even come close to the productivity you're going to see from me this month, and I challenge you all to prove me wrong!

• Two new competitions just for us, set to repeat every month.  They are Pilot of the Month and Officer of the Month.  To win them is easy:  just be named Pilot/Officer of the Week in the WSR the most times in a month (and at least twice) and the Iron Star: Bronze Wings/Ribbon for Pilot/Officer of the Month is all yours!

• Congratulations to Lieutenant Commander noWedge who is the new leader of Flight 3!  He put forth a lot of effort to get that spot, though I'm sorry to say he didn't have much competition.

• Your squadron Executive Officer, Major Drake Jensen, will from now on have his own section in the WSR to post his thoughts.

• The run-on is slowly gaining momentum.  I'm still hammering out the details of turning it into a competition, but in the mean time feel free to post away.

XO'S THOUGHTS

• Well gentlemen and lady, Let me start off by saying how disappionted I am that we have fallen off like we have. We did our ship and ourselves proud in January during SC V. Drax ordered us to relax for Feburary, and we relaxed right through March as well.I am just as guilty as anyone in this regard. While I did die at the hands of our commander on two occasions in MP, I let my SP output disappear and I didn't try to encourage any activity in anyone else. Well no more. I helped Drax revive this squad twice and I do not want to see us let one of the greatest squads in the TC wither and die. Now I don't have any reportable activity this week other than writing this to be included in the WSR, but after today I WILL be flying SP and MP as much as I possibly can. I am a terrible MP player so if anyone needs an eazy kill or just someone to help them get going in #ehcoc just let me know and I will do my best to be at whatever comps I can. I am even willing to fly against someone anytime there isn't a comp on just for fun and practice. I am currently at 1114 FCHG points. I hope to break 1500 by the end of May. If you see me, put a boot to my arse if I say I ain't flying. I hope to pass a few of the pilots on the Van that have a higher FCHG rating then me, so your help and encouragement would be appreciated. On a final note, It saddens me to see a good pilot leaving the Van. CM Coranel Both of Wasp squadron has transfered to the reserves due to real life. While he will still be on IRC for about a month, he is no longer on the roster. Cor is an excellent pilot and a good friend. The Van will never be the same without you Cor. I wish you all the luck in your life and I hope that you will be able to return to the Van in the not to distant future. *SALUTE*
