Squadron News
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

- As you already know, the first round of the Sov League turned out a
good success for us, as we reached place 9 of 29 despite the fact
that we have only 5 pilots, with 4 participating. Good work, let's
keep it up! Full results are attached (that txt file).

- We have a new Squadron Homepage, at the old address
http://kappa.squadron.org. Although "new" is surely not really the
fitting word, as I took a lot of the design and almost all the
content from Algy's site. Just that it's now working on the
SquadFirst code basis.
We decided for that step in order to make updates easier, such as
news postings, competition standings, and so on, while on the other
hand keeping the good look of the old page.
I think that the result is quite satisfying, although still
improvable here and there. I'm currently giving a facelift to the
roster section.
Yes, the site is now run by me, but with Algy and Roasty also having
access. So if anything goes wrong, I'll have someone to blame. :P

- The flying competition between the Rat Pack and the Wing II CMDRs is
over, with us winning. :)
Top-scorer was Carl, closely followed by me and Jon. Scores in

Thanks to the Ratpack for the nice competition. Also thanks Jon for
running it on the CMDRs side.

- The preparations for the third season of the Wing II Pilot League
are on hold until the Sovereign League has come to an end, so that
we can concentrate on that one. And I mean concentrate, see orders
section. :P

Squadron Orders
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

- Fly FT 216 (attached) for the Sovereign League. Deadline is 11th of
April, that means five days left.
When flying it, be sure to use the newest version, not the one that
was attached with my last report.
Also, don't try to fly this one last minute. It requires a ship
patch to work correctly, and that is known to cause problems with
some versions of TF. And even if the patch should work flawlessly
with you, the mission is not exactly easy. So get flying as soon as
you can.
Having a Mac, Shimir couldn't use the patch and had to fight hard to
beat it flying a T/B. As this will reduce his score, the rest of us
must try even harder this week if we want to hold our position on
the table.
I think I don't have to mention that I expect full participation.
Just as in the first round of this comp, submissions go to me ONLY,
and should be in, if possible, on the 10th already so that I can
check back all the submissions and wrte a report to Todbringer.

- Executive Order changes (SA Astatine)
Executive Orders 7 and 8 have been deactivated. #7 related to the
requirement that all AD or higher promotion recommendations include
the Executive Officer, as well as any GOE, IC, MoH or OoR
recommendations. #8 covered the screening of CA appointees by the
Executive Office and Flight Office.

I have resigned from the EH entirely. Read the SO report or ask me
for a forward of my resignation mail if you want a copy -

- Challenge COM Open To Applications (HA Priyum Patel)
Following Mairin's removal from command applications are now being
accepted for a new ISD Challenge COM. Applicants must be able to
meet the following requirements:

- A successful tour as Squadron Commander & Wing Commander (in the
TIE Corps) for no less than FOUR consecutive months for each
position
- Intimate familiarity with all TC protocols and procedures
- No HCI convictions within the last two years
- Commitment to carry out the Commodore duties as detailed in the
Training Manual
- You must also be able to look at long term plans for the Ship and
the welfare of not only your Ship but also the Battlegroup and TIE
Corps.

Applicants must have a quick email response time as well as being
able to work with all levels of command, from regular Flight Members
to the the Ship WC. Specific skills such as webpage design etc, are
desirable. Applications should be sent to High Admiral Priyum and
Vice Admiral Krax. The closing date for applications is 5th April
and should have the subject "ChalCOM".

- ISD Subjugator Commodore Appointed (HA Priyum Patel)
Many congratulations go out to Rear Admiral Ranthier Khaen who has
been selected as the new COM of the ISD Subjugator.

For now, applications for a new Wing XVIII WC are NOT being accepted
so please don't send them.

- Training Office Vacancies (VA Keldorn)
There are currently three (3) vacancies in the Training Office, all
posts as a Professor. There are many lucrative benefits to serving
as a the Professor of a Course, but any potential applicants should
be aware of the responsibilities that accompany the position, these
include (but are not limited to):

- Keeping accurate Graduate Counts (total and per month).
- Maintaining/updating the Course Notes.
- Grading Course Tests promptly.

JavaScript (JS) Professor Open for Applications

Following the resignation of Commander Alex Foley from the position
of JS Professor, the position is now open for applications. The
requirements are:

- An active member of the Emperor’s Hammer.
- Holding at least the rank of Lieutenant (or equivalent).
- Extensive knowledge of JavaScript.
- Be willing to grade exam submissions within 24 hours.

Applications should be sent to me (to@emperorshammer.org) with the
subject “JS Prof Application”. Due to the nature of the position,
there is no closing date for applications; they will remain open
until such time as a relevantly competent individual is found.

Flash (FLA) Professor Open for Applications

Following the resignation of Commander Alex Foley from the position
of FLA Professor, the position is now open for applications. The
requirements are:

- An active member of the Emperor’s Hammer.
- Holding at least the rank of Lieutenant (or equivalent).
- Extensive knowledge of the design and implementation of Flash
animations and (preferably) the latest version of Macromedia Flash
(MX).
- Be willing to grade exam submissions within 24 hours.

Applications should be sent to me (to@emperorshammer.org) with the
subject “FLA Prof Application”. Due to the nature of the position,
there is no closing date for applications; they will remain open
until such time as a relevantly competent individual is found.

Eggdrop (BOT) Professor Open for Applications

Following the resignation of Vice Admiral Sarin from the position of
AIM Professor, the position is now open for applications. The
requirements are:

- An active member of the Emperor’s Hammer.
- Holding at least the rank of Lieutenant (or equivalent).
- Extensive knowledge of the creation and management of Eggdrop bots.
- Be willing to grade exam submissions within 24 hours.
- [Optional –Desired] Currently hosting an Eggdrop bot.
