Hello fellow Kappans, and welcome to the newest Kappa Squadron report.
I was quite pleased with last week's activity, especially because
everybody but Zyrax flew the Sovereign League mission.
I guess you still have technical difficulties, Zyr? If it was any
other reason that prevented you from flying, report in to Roasty for a
medical checkup. :P
Well, as I said before, with the six highest scores counting for the
competition, and us submitting four, our chances aren't great.
Nevertheless, or even because of that very matter, I'm happy to see
that you are all giving your best. Also thanks to Shimir for his
motivational speech, letting aside he was the very first one to submit
his TFR for this comp. Shimir, you are a great asset to Kappa
Squadron, and most likely the most important pilot we have at the
moment.
Let's all keep the good work up and fly the next SL mission, see oders

Squadron News

- The first mission in the Sovereign League is over, with Kappa
submitting four pilot files. Full results haven't been given out
yet. The next mission has already been announced, see orders section
for more.

- The flying competition between the Rat Pack and the Wing II CMDRs is
still going until Monday. Whish me/us good luck. :P

Squadron Orders

- Fly FT 216 (attached) for the Sovereign League. Deadline is 11th of
April, that means two weeks time again for one mission.
I think I don't have to mention that I expect full participation, as
this task shouldn't be too difficult for none of us. Go for it!
Just as in the first round of this comp, submissions go to me ONLY.

- Take the Lucasarts customers poll at
http://www.surveyhost.com/custsurv-LOL/lucas-27_1.htm and let them
know that we are absolutely not keen on Amidala's Hairdressing
Studio 3.5, but on something like TIE Fighter... and that we don't
want it for crappy consoles, but PC and Mac.

- CO openings (SA Astatine)
There are currently three (3) CO positions open for applications.
They are:

Communications Officer
Chief Game Master
Grand Moff

- Flight Office Assistant Required (HA Priyum Patel)
Following Kalar's promotion to RelCOM, I'm once again in search of a
Flight Office Assistant. The duties of the FOA will include:

- Moderating the TIE Corps Message board and Training Board
- Keeping track of weekly reports and TIE Corps homepages
- And anything else I can think of

Potential applicants should be able to meet the following
requirements:

- Membership in the TIE Corps for no less than three months
- The rank of Lieutenant Commander or above
- A good working knowledge of all TIE Corps protocols, the Articles
of War and Codes of Conduct
- A regular presence on the message boards and prompt email turnover

Command experience is not a requirement, and I'm especially keen on
appointing someone with no other commitments to leech away FOAing
time (other than their regular TC position). Applications should be
sent to Spellfire@btinternet.com with the subject "Make me FOA!" by
next Friday at the latest. If you wish, you may include the name of
one superior to act as a referee. The new FOA will then be decided
by the TC meeting on Sunday.

- Subjugator COM Retires (HA Priyum Patel)
Unfortunately, due to increasing RL contraints, Rear Admiral
Chamberlain has retired as Commodore of the ISD Subjugator in the
ATF. The Flight Office thanks him for his work as COM all these past
months.

For the time being applications are NOT being accepted - do not send
them.

- Flag Officer Appointments (HA Priyum Patel)
As was announced at last night's TIE Corps meeting (why weren't you
there?), there are two new Flag Officers in the TIE Corps:

Congratulations to Major Thom Zack who has taken over as the new
Wing Commander for Wing XIX on the SSD Avenger. He comes highly
recommended and should continue to be a fine Officer.

Also congratulations to Rear Admiral Jahan Kalar, who has been
appointed as Commodore of the ISD Relentless. Around a dozen
applications were received, with several highly qualified
candidates. Kalar stood out with his previous extensive experience
as both Wing Commander and Flight Office Assistant. Myself and VA
Krax are confident that he will prove to be the right choice.

I will now need a new FOA, but DO NOT send me any emails about this
yet. I'll post some requirements shortly.
