The Commander sat in his chair and looked around the office. It was his last day in charge. 4 and a half months had past, had it really been that long?! It seemed like only yesterday when he had arrived and taken over as acting CMDR, but once the Squadron Management IWATS was done he had settled-in and got on with his job as best he could. But there was no getting away from the fact that things had not changed for the better within Fury and he needed to step-aside and allow another, more capable, CMDR to take charge and turn the squadron around...

"Gentlemen, there is no getting away from the fact that Fury Squadron has very little, if any, presence within the TIE Corps at the moment and this cannot continue. As Commander I have to take full responsibility and have therefore, after much thought, decided that now is the time to bow-out and hope that someone more capable can fill these shoes and begin the none-too-little-task of turning our current plight around. In the mean-time our WC will take the helm here at Fury."

Please join me in congratulating our very own Wing Commander, Miles Prower, on his Promotion to Lieutenant Colonel!

I have (mostly) enjoyed my time here as your Commander, but no-one should be complacent in these difficult times for the EH & TC. My first thoughts of stepping-down came almost a month ago & my 4-month tour-of-duty came to an end in mid-June. Having decided to continue on a little longer to see if any more could be done to change things, it became blindingly obvious that this was not the case and that moving-aside to allow some-one more capable was the only choice I had. I would like to thank everybody who sent me their thoughts and encouragement during this last week and to our TCCOM, VA Viper Pred & WC, LC Miles Prower without whom I probably would not have stayed around so long! In the future I may, once again, decide that I am ready to take the reigns and become a Commanding Officer, who knows, but for now, my last duty as CMDR is to ask if those two gentlemen could now allow my request for re-assignment back to the ranks, wherever it may be that I am needed the most.

(I will be working away from home in RL from tomorrow and for the rest of the week, so I will be un-contactable for this time...)
