Cobra Squadron Weekly Report # 24

As reported by
Major Blade

CMDRs Rants-
My comp problems aren’t over it seems, I am still losing cd-roms after not for a few days. Sad but true. Anyways, it seems Major Kyle will be leaving us for the Phoenix soon. Sorry to see you go Kyle, and the door is always open for your return.

Many thanks to Kettch for taking over last week, I think I will be on more now unless I start with the blue screen of death again, and to Phantom for volunteering to BSF anything that came up, unfortunately nothing was submitted.
Competitions-

A few here and there…I actually have no idea at the moment.
XvT WoW begins tomorrow on the MSN Game Zone.

Congratulations to the former Omicron CMDR, Lieutenant Colonel Wysseri Arestar, who has been selected as the new Wing VIII WC.

With the retirement of General Drake, the position of Wing IX Wing Commander is open for applications. If you think you have what it takes to be a Wing Commander, email the COM, RA Jahan Kalar and the BGCOM, AD Krax by Sunday May 18th at 23:59 CST. The requirements are:

- At least one successful tour as CMDR or above (4 months)
-No major HCI convictions during the last 12 months
-Committment to the position of at least four months
- Experience with XWA (TIE experience highly recommended)
- Ability to reliably handle significant amounts of admin work to keep things running smoothly
- Ability to create and run various competitions

Flight Member Maximum Rank Extended
05:08 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
I have received approval from the Fleet Commander to extend the maximum attainable rank as a Flight Member from Lieutenant Commander to Commander. To be eligible for this rank, a FM must have spent at least THREE months in their current position. Time is not the only consideration for such a promotion - activity during this period must also be a factor.

The database won't support the submission of these promotion recommendations yet, however Wing Commanders can email me the request and I'll do it manually. The Training Manual, Fleet Standing Orders and Squadron Management notes will be updated over the coming days.

Promotion Time
05:02 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
Congratulations to the Elite Avenger Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dax Corrin, who has been promoted to Colonel for his work in recent months.

Congrats also go out to the Wing Commander of Wing IV, Major Mayk Wolverine, who is promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in recognition of his Flag work.

That’s about it for this week, I want to say that the last six months I have been Cobra Commander has been the most fun I have ever had. If for any reason I have to step down or retire, I wanted each of you to know that you have been the greatest squadron I have ever served with. Cobra has been my online home for a long time and it’ll be here long after I am gone. I have learned a lot about the history of the squadron, doing research for the history page. One of the things I have learned is that for a time, Cobra consisted of one pilot, CPT Ya-qoob. It was that way for quite a while and it has grown from that one pilot to where it is today. I am proud that each of you has chosen to add to the heritage of Cobra Squadron.
Respectfully,
CMDR/MAJ Blade/Cobra/WING XIV/ISD Intrepid
