Pilots of Mantis Squadron,

Welcome to another exciting addition of the Mantis WSR. Not much to report this week, but hopefully the next few weeks will show increased activity. Spring break is coming up for alot of you, so this may be a good time to knock out some IWATS, battles, fiction, etc.

There are some problems I need to address here. The first is the current situation in the Emperor's Hammer Sub-Groups. Alot of people are joining dissident elements and trying to subvert the underlying principles of the EH. I would like you all to know that if I hear of any member of any squadron participating in such activities, I will recommend your removal and banishment immediately. Yes, this IS just a game, but in this game we are play-acting the roles of IMPERIAL OFFICERS. Any Imperial Officers ever caught spying for the Rebels or other dissident elements would immediately get the Vader Special. That is not a threat from me, but a promise. I have been in this organization for a couple of years now, and I do not want to see it destroyed from the inside by some rogue players.

The next issue is my apparent lack of activity. I will not attempt to make any petty excuses for my lack of submitted material or my physical leadership of this excellent squadron . You all already know that I am still in the US Navy, and that my recent duties consumed my attention to a point not acceptable for the Emperor's Hammer. I sent out an email to all Mantis members requesting your decision on my future. If you decided that I should go, I would step aside and let more capable leadership take over. To my personal surprise, the overwhelming majority of the squadron responded that I should stay. I must say that I am very touched by your confidence in my abilities, and your support. As I informed you, after next week, my attention will be back to pre-Iraq levels for the squadron. Again, I thank you all for your support and honesty.
