SQUADRON NEWS
- Flight Wars has ended and I must say I am very proud of everyone who participated. Hornet made a great showing by having two flights in the final four, and one flight in the finals. Flight 2 of Python Squadron were the overall winners. Congratulations to them! Hornet 1 flight has been awarded their shiny Iron Stars for second place!
- Our squadron executive officer, Major Drake Jensen, has applied to take command of Mantis Squadron. As much as I'd hate to see him leave us, he really deserves a command in my opinion and we all wish him the best of luck! This will leave us without an XO so if you are interested, let me know. It's a very useful experience if you think you will ever be interested in having a command of your own.
- As I mentioned last week, many of you are finishing school or working overtime lately, and the situation has not changed. The end of school is getting closer and closer, and when it comes your Ties and Gunboats will be here waiting for you!
- Even though you are all busy, I would like those of you who I have not heard from all week to please drop me a line and let me know you're alive, especially FLs (who should be trying to get in some flying once a week).
- Remember there are always lots of competitions going on, and I keep
them all listed here for your quick reference. Scroll down a bit and
click on a competition to learn about it.
- Also don't forget to email Zerphirio your picture!! If you have to use snail mail let me know and I will make arrangements.
- Greetings lady and gentlemen. Another week has brought a new
development upon us. MAJ Erryc Lassiter has stepped down as commander of
Mantis due to real life time constraints. As some of you know, Mantis was
my first home on the Van and my only command. I have appled for this position
and I hope to get command of Mantis again. I do not know when Draxy will
make his decision or who else has applied so there is no gaurentee that I
will get it. I just wanted to tell you all now that there may be a chance
of my leaving the squad to return to command. I am proud of the way everyone
performed in Flight Wars and a heartfelt congrats goes out to Python II Flight.
