Welcome to the newest Kappa Squadron Report. There wasn't that much
going on in the squad last week, but well, at least we had a good
participation in the Sov League again. All Kappans flew except Zyrax,
who is on leave and therefore excused (so just the "normal" medical
treatment on his return). :P
Congrats go to LT Shimir Sheerelk who was awarded the Commendation of
Bravery... I apologize for the HUGE delay of that, but Stele being on
leave when I requested it in the last WSR, plus the OPS obviously
being a little slow pretty much delayed things.
Speaking about it, Stele is currently on a forced leave again due to
technical difficulties (that's the term for "stupidity" when talking
about superiors, you know *g*), because somebody forgot to pay the
phone bill.
I guess Stele's folks can be very glad that he is not *really* an
imperial Colonel, or they'd have not much to laugh...:P
However, as he obviously wanted to share some of his pains with all of
you, he left me as A-WC, so well, what can I say...

Squadron News

- The Commendation of Bravery has been awarded to LT Shimir Sheerelk.
Congrats again, Shimir. :)

- We are now on 8th position in the TIE division of the SL. Third
round ended today and fourth mission assignments have already been
given out, see orders section!

- Zyrax still on leave, but will be back (if on schedule) next week.

- COL Stele is on forced leave due to phone line interruption.
Estimated time of return is end of next week. A-WC until then is me.

- While cleaning up my mail inbox (a process that still isn't 10%
completed, and that's an optimistic guess *g*) I found an old fiction
submission from Jan Wemmel (back from August 2001) that was never
made public, I guess... I will HTMLize it when I find the time and
add it to to our site's fiction archive. Shimir has also announced
plans to submit something soon, so keep checking there. :)

- Save the Zone XWA Room (AD Ender mBind)
The XWA Room is marked for deletion from the MSN Zone! That would
mean no more XWA WoWs and other Zone based competitions. Please sign
this petition to keep it alive:

- Profile Removals (HA Priyum Patel)
Just a bit of general information: Unless specifically requested, no
profiles are deleted from the database. This means if you've been
declared AWOL, left the EH or whatever and can't find your profile,
then uncheck "Assigned Personnel Only" box on the Search page before
entering your name. You'll find the profile has simply been listed
as Inactive.

- Wing XIV WC (HA Priyum Patel)
Many congratulations go out to Major Phantom who has been selected
as the new Wing XIV Wing Commander!

- Update (HA Priyum Patel)
Unfortunately I was with limited computer access over the past two
days so I haven't done much in the way of FO-ing. However I'm back
now and all outstanding requests should be dealt with by this time
tomorrow. Sorry for the delay guys.

- New Competition (VA Kyle Katarn)
There is a new Competition. The Sovereign Ace Comp. The Comp is held
Tuesdays. 1st time on the 29th April. For more Information, please
consult the Combat Calendar.

Also I take suggestions for a BSC Hosted Competition from the EH.
Please mail them to me. Also, I search Hosts for this comp who
already got BSC knowledge. I think about something like the old Zone
Sunday Competition.

- News at last! (RA Darknyte)
Well, no news has been posted since Monday so I decided to make a
post. Uh, well...what's new you ask? Plenty, the EH got a new ally
called Sith Squadron. Don't know much about them, but they seem
cool. Also got an alliance with Dark Empire recently, so we just
rock all around.

- Wing V (HA Priyum Patel)
Applications are now being accepted for a new Wing V WC with the
following requirements...

* Must have held the position of Squadron Commander in the TIE Corps
previously for no less than 4 consecutive months
* Must have passed SM/2 or SM/3
* Be able to reply to email and process BSFs within 24-48 hours
* Send reports each week without fail
* Must be able to handle significant amounts of admin work to keep
the Wing running
* Be able to motivate pilots and keep CMDRs working on improving
their Squadrons
* Must be able to create and run various competitions for the Wing
* Applicants must be 100% dedicated to the Wing to see goals
achieved and have the will to drive to that end
* No serious HCI convictions in the last 12 months
* A sincere sense of duty and loyalty to the SSSD Sovereign and a
commiment to the participation in the activities of the
Brotherhood of Sovereign Flag Officers
* Strict adherence to the TC Standing Orders and Sovereign policy

Add you future plans for the Wing and what steps you would take to
encourage recruitment, activity and keep things running smoothly.

The application period is open through to Friday 25th April. Mail
apps to hullbreach@warpmail.net. Flakes, cheaters, resume-padders
and anger management cases need not apply (that means you Miack!).

- Wing X WC Appointed (HA Priyum Patel)
The Wing Commander for Wing X on the Challenge has been selected
sooner than I expected. Many congratulations go out to Major Frey
Gallandro. Frey had a very successful tour as Inferno Commander in
X, and we're confident he'll continue this trend as WC. Congrats!

- Wing Commander Resignations (HA Priyum Patel)
Two WCs announced their resignations yesterday. Lieutenant Colonal
Tissaya Argat retired as XIV WC, stating her reasons as unsolvable
differences with a Command Officer. Colonel Frodo March has also
resigned as WC of Wing V and stepped down to a Flight Member
position in Krayt Squadron.

I'd just like to clarify that none of these resignations are to do
with the recent DB events. Applications are not yet being accepted
for either position. If they are then requirements will be posted
here.

- The battles situation (SA Astatine)
The download links to battles were disabled this week because one
member of the defecting group of the Dark Brotherhood suggested
downloading all our battles and using them for their own use. The
links are now back online but you must login for them to appear.
This is the protect the hard work of the TIE Corps' mission
designers.
