Aboard the ASF Flagship -- ISD-II Intrepid
Hello all and welcome to my first Weekly Squadron Report as your new(officially) CMDR!!! Finally now we know who our new commander is, and it's time to get back down to business ;) I've got a few things in mind that will start to be put into place over the next few weeks, and also more stuff to come in the coming months.
As you probably have seen if you frequent the Wing Channel on IRC, Joey the Asp CMDR and I have started to sort out a possible competition between Krayt and Asp Squadrons. We've only just touched base on it, but next week after I've returned from leave, we'll sort out some more details and keep you updated in our WSRs. It should be fun as there are plenty of ways to do it....as both squadrons have pretty much even numbers. We will probably look at a combined SP and MP approach, so people of one discipline dont miss out if we concentrate on the other :) Aside from this, I have various other comps and ideas to flesh out....so keep an eye on the M/Boards, email and the Krayt Site for details soon!!
Actually, before I get into the report, I just wanted to let you all know about my intent to use the Messageboards more often for announcements between WSR's and the like. It's a great way to keep in touch with the squad, and it also enables you guys to give feedback and reply to topics easier which will definitely help in discussions.

General News;
- As always, the Krayt Squadron Website is online at http://krayt.squadron.org/(alternate URL = http://www.minos.net/~krayt/). Everything has been changed to reflect the roster and command changes :)
- Congratulations go out too CPT Kettch, who has assumed command of Cobra Squadron, after Blade's resignation last week!

- A new MP gaming host called Talarian Gaming has started work on a new client similar to the MSN Zone. More info here: http://www.telariangaming.com/.
- Avenger COM, RA Demos tendered his resignation this week, due to RL Military Commitments. On a side note, RA Auto has returned from duty with the US Army in Iraq...welcome back AUTO!!!
- COL Ekim Yellek, has retired from his post as Scorpion Squadron CMDR due to RL commitments. Apps are now being accepted, but no closing date has been issued.
- The Intrepid Multiplayer ladder is still going - set to finish 26th of June, so get flying!
- The Wing FCHG race has been resumed, but there is no longer an accompanying Combat Rating(CR) Race - as per new COO/TO rules.
Squadron News;
- *** I will be on leave over the weekend(Saturday thru to Tuesday), as I'm going away for a few days. If you have any BSF's to be done, please send them to WC Phantom. I would still like to be CC'd for my own records though, so if possible fwd me the email you send to Phantom, but please dont attach the pilot files to it. I may not get a chance to check my mail over the weekend, so I dont want it to be clogged by PLT files and miss something. Cheers all!
- The Internet Office still seems to be having problems with the redirection of some of the minos.net hosted sites. For now we will have to use the http://www.minos.net/~krayt/ web url to access the Krayt Squadron site.
- Congratulations to LT Obiwan, who has been moved to Krayt 2-1, he actually has some pilots now!
- Congrats also go out to CM SavageAz who has had his transfer from Wing X approved and is now Krayt 3-1!
- I apologise for draggin my feet a bit putting the Squadron Patches on uniforms, but it will be one of the first things I do when I return from my weekend leave.
- The Krayt v Demon Squadron competition has been closed. There are a number of reasons for this, main ones being Demon's CMDR Penfold having to move to RSV's for the american summer, and the lack of notice that both squadrons had for the competition. The competition was approved and Frodo was not informed until about halfway through the competitions 'active' time. Once Penfold has returned from RSV(around August), we will reorganise the competition, but in the meantime we'll just have to cut our teeth on Asp Squadron in a few weeks ;)
On the horizon;
- The Krayt Squadron Olympics will still go ahead in the not to distant future. Keep one eye open for announcements.
- New Krayt v Asp Squadron planned, details to come as soon as Joey and I sit down the flesh out the comp!
- FCHG Comp has been resumed - get to it and fly :D

Another interesting week for the crew of the Intrepid, and Krayt Squadron. Not only did we find out who our new CMDR is, but Obiwan has been promoted to 2-1 Flight Leader, and CM SavageAz transferred from the Challenge to join us! Elsewhere in the wing, CPT Kettch has also become the new Cobra Squadron CMDR. So it's been another busy week in the Command circle of the Int....at least our Flags are being kept busy eh? ;)
Two things I'd like to end the report with. One is, as last week - recruiting. The Intrepid is down to about 36 members(of a possible 60), and Krayt herself is at 6. I've made it an aim of mine to be at 8 members by the end of the month. If you think you can help me achieve this goal, go for it! Even if they dont wanna join Krayt, we can at least help fill out a few of the other squadrons in the Wing - so either way we win! The second thing is that I'd like everyone in the squadron to send me an email, just to let me know your all here and do check your email and read my WSR's ;) A few of you I have not heard from for a few weeks, you know who you are, so please reply where possible. If I dont get an answer from a few of you, you'll likely find yourself in RSV's or AWOL'ed by the end of next week >:oP On that note, I think I'll leave now....have a good weekend all!
