Green Squadron Weekly Report #9

Welcome to the first report of my command. I'd like to remind all Green pilots to contact me by some method as soon as possible. It isn't much fun for any of us if I have to keep chasing you for your status/activity. I know that five members contacted me in response to my first squadron-wide email, so I hope at least that many will remain active and report in regularly.

TIE Corps News

Wing XXI News

* Major Talon Jade has been assigned as Wing Commander.

* Captain Aija Alura Judarrl is now in command of Blue Squadron.

* The Redemption fiction run-on is underway - some of you have already participated, hopefully there'll be some more submissions from Green before the end of the month.


Squadron News/Status

* COL Pickled Yoda and COL Stuart placed first and second respectively in the Redemption caption competition round 2. Well done :) you earned your ribbons gentlemen.

* So far I've heard from 5 of 9 pilots. This isn't too bad, but inactivity is something we can do without at the moment. Even a simple email to let me know you're still there is better than nothing.

* I'm taking applications for the open 3-1 Flight Leader position. I expect FLs to be visible, active leaders - ie, flying, taking IWATS, writing, creating graphics, communicating regularly, helping FMs etc. Keep this in mind if you're interested.

* Golden Tugs voting is still open. Rules have been tweaked slightly in that you now have to have flown the battles that you wish to vote upon. A full list of nominations is here: http://eh.stryfe.net/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=860. I'll be flying some of these myself, and it would be a good opportunity for us to pick up some more citations.

* Thanks to me joining the squadron, we now have 221 citations. We're close to getting TIE-TC 35, XvT-TC 17 and 27 - only needs one or two more of us to complete those battles.


Competitions

There are several competitions running at the moment:

1. Pilot of the Week/Month

Details: Each week the Green squadron pilot with the best TIE Corps participation record, whether it be IWATS, flight activity, relevant communications, fiction pieces, assisting officers in their duties or whatever, receives an IS-BW. The pilot with the best record per month wins an IS-BW. In order for the competition to be judged fairly, I will not be participating myself.

2. Green Squadron needs new mottos

Details: At the moment, Green's roster page has no mottos for its three flights. To rectify this, all Green squadron pilots have a period of one week in which to submit mottos for each flight - these should be relevant to the existing flight nicknames. Submissions will be judged by myself, please send them to the email address in my profile. The pilot who comes up with the best submission for all three flights wins an IS-BR.

4. Houston, We Have a Problem!

Write the best mission description you can and by this I mean describe a mission the ship goes on and what happens. Two page minimum with 12 pt font please. Submit it to me by 30 June. 6. Dempsey's PC Game Mania

Details: Three weeks in a row, you'll get 10 screenshots from classic PC games. 1 point per correct answer. Every week, there's a IS-SR/IS-BR for the winner. At the end, there's an IS-PR to IS-SR for the top three.

Reassigned to Green CMDR. Completed TIE-TC #3, XvT-TC #63, 108, 116. Submitted two new squadron competitions. Asked all pilots to check in, nominated acting commander, gave squadron standing orders, offered to assist several cadets with training including now SL Matt Adler of Blue squadron. Active on IRC, EH messageboards and on Wing mailing list. Kept in regular contact with WC Jade and squadron members.

Standing Orders

* I would like each of you to report to me via email every Thursday with any TIE Corps-related activity, with dates so I know what you did and when. I will be using this information to compile the weekly squadron report on Fridays.

* COL Yoda, you are my second-in-command - should I have to go on leave or disappear for any reason you will take the acting commander role.

* Feel free to send me applications for the 3-1 Flight Leader position, these will be reviewed next month.

* Ideally, the majority of you will participate in at least one squadron or wing competition - check the current ones at the competitions centre here: http://tc.emperorshammer.org/competitions.php?id=current

* Fly a battle, take an IWATS, produce a graphic, post fiction in the run-on, etc etc - basically get involved in something TC-related at least once per week.

* If you need help with something, want to discuss an issue, have any ideas for TC stuff - let me know, I usually have a 24 hour email turnaround time.
