Welcome to the newest Kappa Squadron report. It has been a busy and
exciting week, and I'm glad that there's so much good stuff to report
this time! :)
I also must say, very fine activity from everyone, keep it up! :-)


Squadron News
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

- We achieved an excellent result in the last round of the Sovereign
League. Beaten only by the elite Omega Squadron, we made second
place, regardless of us being just five pilots.
Also, I was the top-scorer of that round, beating CPT Night Grue of
Omega by 37 (!) points. :)
A very good result Kappans, keep it up for round 5! Info in the
orders section.

- We also won the first round of TSI against Theta with 52405 to 34315
points, good work guys. Next opponent will be Sigma. More details in
the orders section.

- Congrats to Shimir Sheerelk, who has been promoted to the rank of
Lieutenant Commander! Shimir has been a great asset to Kappa, was
always active, flew for every competition, wrote a nice piece of
fiction, contacted helluva lot of cadets on the Daedalus, and always
came up with great ideas. A very well deserved promotion. :)
Also, I was promoted to the rank of Major. Meet you in the Kappa
hatch, beer's on us! :P

- Shimir suggested an enthusiastic project, a combination of a fiction
piece, graphics and mission design. Of course, all about Kappa. :)
Our writers, Algaron and Shimir himself, offered to write the story
for this, with those of us less talented with the pen reading it and
suggesting changes. Then I (and anyone else interested) will do some
graphics to illustrate key points of the storyline.
As a final step, we will try to turn it into a Free Mission or
Battle, depending on size. With none of us ever completing a custom
battle, this will call for a combined effort, but I'm sure we'll be
able to do it. With his experience as TCT, Roasty is likely to take
the leading role here.
A great idea, Shimir, and I hope it will lead to a nice result! :)

- EH Meeting Trivia (Fleet Admiral Aiden Cantor Karias)
Just a reminder that the Emperor's Hammer weekly meeting in
#Emperor's_Hammer now features Trivia. The winner of trivia recieves
an IS-BR, or an IS-SR if attendance is above 80. Encourage everybody
you know to show up online for the meeting at 12 noon EST.

- LA taking IRC leave (VA Darknyte)
As announced in my latest report, I'm taking an indefinate leave
from IRC. I will still be around and active, just need a break from
IRC for a while to sort some things out. If you need me you can use
AIM (Darknyte22) or email me at darknyte@alltel.net. Once I get
sorted, I'll come back to IRC full swing, but until then expect to
see me rarely, mainly at meetings or in non-mainstream EH channels.

- ChalCOM Email Change (HA Priyum Patel)
The Challenge Commodore, Rear Admiral Sephiroth, has changed his
email address to tc-sephiroth@tcinternet.net. Please update your
address books accordingly.

- Wing Commander Appointment (HA Priyum Patel)
Congratulations to the former Omicron CMDR, Lieutenant Colonel
Wysseri Arestar, who has been selected as the new Wing VIII WC.

With the retirement of General Drake, the position of Wing IX Wing
Commander is open for applications. If you think you have what it
takes to be a Wing Commander, email the COM, RA Jahan Kalar and the
BGCOM, AD Krax by Sunday May 18th at 23:59 CST. The requirements
are:

- At least one successful tour as CMDR or above (4 months)
- No major HCI convictions during the last 12 months
- Committment to the position of at least four months
- Experience with XWA (TIE experience highly recommended)
- Ability to reliably handle significant amounts of admin work to
keep things running smoothly
- Ability to create and run various competitions
- Reliable and quick email response
- A sincere desire to make Wing IX the best it possibly can be and a
commitment to the Tie Corps and the Relentless
- Ability to handle numerous command decisions in a fair and mature
manner

Include any plans you have for the Wing, especially in regards to
moral, activity and recruitment. All officers who feel they meet the
above requirements will be considered, but egomaniacs, crackpots,
abusive jerks, and anyone who's in it for the rank should look
elsewhere.

- Flight Member Maximum Rank Extended (HA Priyum Patel)
I have received approval from the Fleet Commander to extend the
maximum attainable rank as a Flight Member from Lieutenant Commander
to Commander. To be eligible for this rank, a FM must have spent at
least THREE months in their current position. Time is not the only
consideration for such a promotion - activity during this period
must also be a factor.

The database won't support the submission of these promotion
recommendations yet, however Wing Commanders can email me the
request and I'll do it manually. The Training Manual, Fleet Standing
Orders and Squadron Management notes will be updated over the coming
days.

- Promotion Time (HA Priyum Patel)
Congratulations to the Elite Avenger Commander, Lieutenant Colonel
Dax Corrin, who has been promoted to Colonel for his work in recent
months.

Congrats also go out to the Wing Commander of Wing IV, Major Mayk
Wolverine, who is promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in recognition of
his Flag work.
