Aboard the ASF Flagship -- ISD-II Intrepid
Hello all and welcome to the latest weekly Krayt Squadron Report! I hope the text is acceptable - Maroon is one of my fave colours, and it's a bit of a change to my navy blue Flight Reports ;)
First of all, let me get one thing straight. If you haven't already noticed, I'm not Frodo(thank god). :P Seeing Frodo has left, for the time being until a new CMDR is found, I am acting CMDR. Also, seeing the COMship has gotten Frodo into a celebratory drinking binge, he wont be doing this weeks report. :D On this note I'd like to extend some gratitude towards our old CMDR, now COM, for stepping in when he did and looking after us for what ended up a very short time - but a fun one :) I'd also like to congratulate him on his new possie, do us proud as an ex Krayt Frodo, we'll be watching ;)
I also thought, while I was here why not brag about some of the stuff ex- Krayt pilots have done, and how we seem to be a good stepping stone to higher ranks ;) Our last two CMDR's, Captain Phantom and Colonel Frodo are both now Flags in the wing, and there have been a number of others before them - of which none of them I can remember right at this moment. Point is, the best are always in Krayt ;) Alright, enuff of that now....onto the report!
General News;
- As always, the Krayt Squadron Website is online at http://krayt.squadron.org/. It will be updated to reflect the changes in the squad over the next few days as they happen - so keep an eye out for the new CMDR announcement!
- Int COM has been chosen! After much deliberation and obviously quite a bit of weed or something(:P) DS, Pri and Cyric have appointed Colonel Frodo to Int COM - with a rank promotion to Rear Admiral! Look out for the A$$ Admiral Pimp Hobbit! ;)
- Darksaber is currently on semi-leave, as he has exams at the moment.
- New battles have been released by the TAC Office - even some new ones as of yesterday - go and check them out!
- Major Phantom and BGCOM Darksaber have closed the FCHG and CR Races for the month of May early, hopefully we'll still get medals for April and May, but there will be no more FCHG/CR race until a new one is instigated hopefully in the not to distant future.
- The Intrepid Multiplayer ladder is still going - set to finish 26th of June, so get flying!
- Major Blade has stepped down as CMDR of Cobra Squadron, an announcement on the new CMDR should be made shortly.
Squadron News;
- Our CMDR COL Frodo March has been promoted to Intrepid COM - new CMDR should be announced over the course of this weekend! Congrats again to Frodo!
- New Squadron Patch has been given out and should be on uniforms on the Krayt site this weekend. If you did not receive it, let me know and I'll send it out to who still needs it :)
- As you should all know, Krayt Squadron has been participating in the Sovereign Squadron League(SSL) Competition - Week 6 is currently underway with pilot files for the free missions due to Phantom by June 6th.
- Krayt Squadron is still leading the Intrepid Ladder, but get out there and fly so we can hold our league and finish the winning Squadron!
- Dont forget - we still have our comp on at the moment with Demon Squadron. Fly XvT Free 74 and XWA Free 102 and send them to Frodo(cc me). Competition is won by the squadron with the highest average points - so fly on hard and get as many points as possible! Comp finishes on the 10th June, please have files in by then :)
On the horizon;
- The Krayt Squadron Olympics will still go ahead in the not to distant future. Keep one eye open for announcements.
- New FCHG/CR Comps should be released in the not to distant future.

Well well well, an interesting week for those in Krayt and Wing XIV. I've been assured that the new CMDR will be announced this weekend - hopefully tomorrow it will be announced and confirmed!
Before I go though, 2 things I want to mention. At the moment we are 5 pilots, if our CMDR comes from outside of the squadron - that'll make 6. Chapel is currently on leave(which will be made official over the course of the weekend/next week) for a while as he is flat out with work, but he'll be back in time.
So, we will need to get recruiting and help the new CMDR build a whole new Krayt for the era to come! This will be the main focus for the squadron over the next few weeks - 8 people would be a good starting point to get the activity up within the squadron, and it will also give us a solid basis for Inter Squadron competitions and the like. Activity is another thing that we need to work on and I'm sure the new CMDR will agree. The last thing I'd like to request, is that every current member of the Squadron reply to this email. Thats it, just a reply. This is NOT an awol check, I'd just like to get a reply from people and it will also show the new CMDR that we do actually reply to com's and aren't all dead :)
