ISD-II Hammer
Commodore HA Dempsey reporting
Report ID: H.AD.026
Report date: August 31, 2015

Commodore's speech

Well, it's the last day of the month. That means I still have time to finish my entry for The GoG Games: TIE Fighter Battle 9: T/D Technology, and I need it, I spent too much time on Star Conflict this month, trying to complete all the daily challenges they set. The good news is that today, on the last day, I managed to get the last of my challenges done, so now I have completed all 90 challenges. Thank you very much, CM Doc, for getting me started on the open space missions! I also spent a little extra time flying PvE missions once I noticed I had a shot at actually winning a kill board. Yay me.

Good news! The Hammer's numbers have increasded, despite losing LCM Simomime. Welcome to the TIE Corps, SL Sharu, and welcome back, COL Coranel Both! I still have a profile to fix, but that shouldn't take long! Not so good news is the resignation of LC Iceman as Alpha CMDR, but sometimes life finds a way, and sometimes it just gets in the way. Fortunately, Acting CMDR LCM Archenksov has accepted command of the squadron, and has been installed, with the required promotion to the rank of full Commander! He started off great in his new position by scoring 100% on the Squadron Management 4 IWATS course. Have fun in the new job!

They have both arrived in time, as this week the long announced Hammer-wide competition - One Hammer to rule them all begins. See the dedicated section below! Yes IO know, the title lacks originality. I don't care :)

Our LO, VA Mark Schueler has also announced an EH wide competition, LO's TIE Fighter Knockout!. If you like flying TIE, I suggest you sign up. See the email he sent to the mailing list the other day.

It's been a busy week on the mailing list, lots of discussion there and on the message boards. This is good, it means there's plenty of us who still enjoy being here. Kudos to all!

On a more serious note, allegations have been made towards our own LC John T. Clark this week by the Imperial News Network. I'm sure most of you have followed their "insightful articles" on the news page. There are, however, a few glaring errors in these articles that I would like to rectify. First of all, LC Clark was not sentenced to clean all the latrines on the Hammer with his toothbrush. It was just my latrine, and he was allowed to use his pilot's uniform as well. INN also seemed to insinuate the smuggling of Ewoks. All Ewoks transported to and from the Hammer were not smuggled illegally, there were permits for all of them! There was also word of crashing a TIE Phantom into the hangar deck and scratching the paint. This too, is ridiculous. As if anyone would notice if you'd scratch the paint. I was also not informed of a crashing TIE Phantom. The Deck Officer in charge when this accident allegedly happened will report to my office before this day is done or there will be consequences! Let's hope INN gets their facts straight next time!

    Commodore's Competitions

One Hammer to rule them all

The rules are simple: In the next 4 reports (including this one) week you will be given a flying and a non flying assignment. You can submit an entry for either, or both. Each will yield a weekly winner and a weekly runner-up. Each player gets 5 pts for a win, 4 pts for a runner-up, 3 pts for a 3rd, 2 pts for a 4th, and everyone else gets 1 pt. At the end of the 4 week, there will be a top 3 for the flying part and a top 3 for the no flying part, yielding the appropriate medals. vEach week, the assignments will be different, and flying assignments will be a mix of SP and MP.

This week's flying Assignment: Fly a Star Conflict PvE mission on the tier of your choice: lowest mission time wins. Screenshots to be submitted to the COM for the competition, don't forget to submit them through the website to earn a Legion of Skirmish!
This week's non-flying Assignment: Six degrees of separation: get from the Wikipedia page of Fred Flintstone to the Wikipedia page of the Higgs boson in as few clicks as possible. E-mail your list of clicks to the COM.

    Dempsey's Weekly Riddles

Every week, the report will have a riddle. First pilot to send the correct answer to the mailing list wins. Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!

This week's riddle: Here are several sequences of numbers. Which is the next number in this sequence?

    5
    1 5
    1 1 1 5
    3 1 1 5
    1 3 2 1 1 5
    1 1 1 3 1 2 2 1 1 5

    Last week's winner: CPT Hawkins
