Hornet Squadron News:

TOP DOG is now on! Make sure you guys fly whatever you're best at: MP or SP, whatever it is!

Apparently our FL 3 has disappeared. I'd love to know where to and when and why. If anyone has info, I'd love to hear it.

Personnel Transfers:

- Hornet Squadron has lost 1 pilot:

• COL Wil Striker has apparently moved to RSVs.

Medals and Awards:

• Zoron awarded IS-SW for XvT WoW performance, 1 LoC for NotS Win.

Current Competitions:

- There are currently several competitions running at the Squadron level, the Battlegroup level, and the Fleet-wide level. Hornet members should participate in as many of these as possible.

Fleet-wide Competitions: 

• #ehcoc MP Events: These will resume on August 1st, after Parallax war ends. Deadline: None  

Battlegroup Competitions: 

• BGCOM's XvT/XWA WoW Incentive Comp: AD Darksaber awards IS-GW/IS-SW/IS-BW to the top 3 ASF winners in each WoW. Avenger's LC Az has a stranglehold on the top spot most months, who will step up to challenge him next? Deadline: None
• ASF Recruitment Comp: Exactly like the Vanguard Recruiting comp (see below) except on a Battlegroup-scale. Deadline: 8/20/2003 http://emperorshammer.net/competitions/details.asp?ID=740

Ship Competitions:

• Vanguard FCHG Race: Pilot with the highest fchg gain during the month wins a IS-SW and the second highest wins a IS-BW. Deadline: 9/1/2003 http://emperorshammer.net/competitions/details.asp?ID=731 
• Vanguard Recruitment Competition: The pilot who recruits the most Cadets off the Daedalus or Reservists from the Reserves to join the Vanguard in a month wins an IS-SR. Deadline: 9/1/2003 http://emperorshammer.net/competitions/details.asp?ID=733

Hornet Competitions: 

• New Flight Names: If you can design new flight names, that the majority of the squadron likes, you will win a Iron Star Bronze Ribbon. Deadline: None http://emperorshammer.net/competitions/details.asp?ID=735

CMDR's Thoughts

Pilot of the Week Draiff! He's still working hard to help us move up from 5th place. I'm trying to do what I can when I can, but I work almost every waking moment, so I have a hard time flying.

Just remember to do what you enjoy most and get us points by doing it! So nW: go kick someone's butt at MP, Draiff - fly SP, etc... etc...
