Hey Report # 40 (2001-08-13)

This report was submitted by MAJ Osan'gar

As submitted by CM Josh Popelka

*******************************************

Gather 'round folks, time for another Hey Squadron Report.

I looked around wided-eyed at the mess I'd made of Osan'gar's office.
My
two weeks as Acting Commander of Hey Squadron had a been a blast. I'd
gotten to sit in Os's big comfy CMDR's chair, much is much more
comfortable
than my normal Flight Leader chair. Watched DVDs on Os's begger
entertainment system. Suddenly the office door opened, Ferret had come
to
remind me to turn in a squadron report. And just when Blade Runner was
getting to my favorite part, too. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the
special Ferret diversion hat. It was buried under the pizza boxes and
beer
bottles. *sigh*

SQUADRON NEWS

Been a pretty quiet week. No squadron roster changes, a little
commmunication on the MB.

-We didn't do as well in the Summer Bash as we did in the first week.
I
came in fourth in the We hunt immediately followed by LCM Treb Helfest,
and
LCM Tvan'Oris.

WING NEWS
--------------------

-LC Sequoh Marden is on leave so MAJ Jahan Kalar is in charge.

-Most (all?) of the squadron commanders are on leave.

-We're down to 48 pilots.

The Training Office is running two small competitions. The first one is
to
come up with a motto for Daedalus. Details are available here. The
other
competition is related to which ship, wing and squadron will get to be
in
the first issue of a cadet newsletter of sorts which the training
office
will be starting soon. Details of that are here.

Episode II Title: Attack of the Clones
06:39 - AD Jarak Maldon [jarak@stny.rr.com]
The title for the next installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy
will be
entitled Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Like most Star
Wars
titles, this is a very blunt to-the-point title similar in such to
Return of
the Jedi. The following is taken from the news report posted on
starwars.com:

"starwars.com is pleased to announce that Star Wars: Episode II Attack
of
the Clones is the full title for the next Star Wars film, scheduled for
release in 2002. Attack of the Clones joins The Phantom Menace, A New
Hope,
The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as chapter titles in the
six-episode Skywalker saga. It harkens back to the sense of pure fun,
imagination and excitement that characterized the classic movie serials
and
pulp space fantasy adventures that inspired the Star Wars saga."

EH Timeline - Thrawn Trilogy
06:38 - VA Goatham [RGoatham@aol.com]
As you may, or may not, know a competition based around the Emperor's
Hammer
Timeline which involves the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn is set to
start
on the 15th of August. This is set to be a huge project with around 120
missions required to get through the story, along with a lot of plot to
accommodate for the involvement of all the subgroups of the Emperor's
Hammer. Thus we need your help in order to complete this, so if you are
any
good at making missions, or at writing fiction and wish to help please
contact VA Goatham (rgoatham@aol.com), AD Ramos (magedon42@aol.com) and
COL
Blackbird (dex@cyborrea.cjb.net) for further details on what we would
require from you, thank you.

New EuroLoC time
06:37 - LC Mike [pbmike@go2.pl]
Hello pilots. I come to you to inform about new time of Euroloc. As
always,
it's on Saturday, but 09:00-12:30 EST (15:00-18:30 GMT).

FMC suspending new membership
06:36 - FA Mike [darkjedi@otelo-online.de]
As from now on, the Fleet Medical Corps will not take any new
applicants or
transfer/assign already present personnel. This is due to an internal
FMC
operation where information about will be released later. This
recruitment/assignment stop will last for at least one month.

First ever ASF BG Escort Squadron
06:35 - VA Cyric [jroscoe@bellatlantic.net]
Congrats to Crusader Squadron on the ISD GreyWolf ASF for being named
the
first ever ASF BG Escort Squadron. The exhibited the best activity, and
group skills over the last few months, plus gaining 100 citations in
the
process. They are unparalleled in the ASF or the TC for that matter.
Congrats to all of them!

New ImperialAcademy.org poll
05:33 - HA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
In light of the newly announced (and rather pathetic) title of Star
Wars
Episode 2, the TO/IWATS site has a new poll on what you think of it.
You can
check it out here.

MISCELLANEOUS
--------------------

Next report will see the return of the Pilot of the Week award.

Any and all BSFs will be taken care of when Os returns.

I'll be going back college tomorrow, and my e-mail response time might
be a
little longer than it usually is. Hopefully, that won't be the case
for too
long.

Now, I've got to start cleaning up Os's office. 'Course, I could always
assign that duty to a LT or SL... (Evil laugh).

Thanks,

CM Josh Popelka, Hey Squadron Acting Commander
