Scorpion Squadron Report for week ending September 14, 2001

“Gentlemen, I have some very big news. As of right now I am in charge of this squadron for the next two weeks, then I am stepping down. Because of certain circumstances I will not say I am resigning. I want you to know I think that you all have done a great job, it was an honor to be your commander I hope you continue you well under your next Commander. As of now I am recommending Lieutenant Commander Xanthos Deia as my successor. I hope you all apply yourselves for him. To inform you of my plans I am not sure yet where I will go, I am looking for a new home, but I can’t stay here on the Vanguard. Thanks for being a good group of guys. Also Vice-Admiral Ender mBind has also resigned, and will be taking the position of Captain mBind Echo 2-1. I hope you enjoy the next two weeks, let’s fly and beat the Intrepid.”

Uniform Armband
16:46 - SA Kawolski [absurefire@aol.com]
Lieutenant Strahl has created an armband that fits on TC Uniforms to honor the memory of those who had fallen victim to the recent terrorist attack in America which claimed the life of Cadet and Hunter (BHG) Nero Fel along with the friends and family of many other EHers.

Also, if anyone knows the whereabouts of my Command Attaché Admiral Jarak, please let me know.
EH Memorium
16:24 - FA Keiran Idanian [KeiranIdanian@aol.com]
I'd rather not have to speak of this, because it is hard enough on all of us, but if you would happen to know of any of our members lost in these terrible attacks or perhaps one of your family members were lost. Please let me know, and we will add them to the Emperor's Hammer Memorium. Please e-mail me at KeiranIdanian@aol.com
If you do know of anyone that died in these attacks, I would like to convey my very deepest condolences. The day it happened, it was the worest thing that I have ever seen, and would NEVER want to see this happen again! If you did loss someone, I'm extremely sorry, and if you need someone to talk to, my door is open. I will pray for you.

Sharing Passwords
23:52 - FA Slade Holm [jimlholm@yahoo.com]
It is time to address, a simple matter and a major problem within the TIE Corps. The TIE Corps database is a magnificent feat (many other coders may scoff, but that is due to a typical programer disease called "I'm_the_bestest" virus. Other symptoms include saying 1337 too much and not being able to code your way out of a paper sack.) but back to the point at hand, it is a great blessing for the TIE Corps and enables a smooth and easy way to award medals, battles, transfers, promotions ect ect. Thusly, people who are entrusted with command postions, are also entrusted with special rights on the database.

Please do not break this trust, and hand out your password to people. From this point on, if anyone is caught handing out your password to someone, it's an automatic two week suspension from duty. If any damage is done, then we'll take care of that issue on a case to case basis; but as a general rule, don't give your password out. If you need something done, contact your superior and have him do it for you. That's what they are there for. Thank You.
EH vs NRN Melee Competition!
09:20 - VA Wet Willy [wetwilly@ehnet.org]
The Emperor's Hammer is taking on the New Republic Navy! The competition is running through Battlestats using WoW rules. From Sept 14 to Sept 21, all internal compeitions are hereby suspended, so that our multiplayer pilots may concentrate on the comp against the navy. For more information, see the competition webpages, XVT: http://www.battlestats.com/games/xvt/war/info/?war928 and XWA: http://www.battlestats.com/games/xwa/war/info/?war932 or if you need help using battlestats.com, please see CPT Werdna Elbee's WoW help page at http://vogue.ehonline.org/wow/. Check the Combat Calendar for dates and times for hot battles. Good luck, EH pilots! If you need any help, feel free to email me at wetwilly@ehnet.org.
Bug correction and mission creators
02:28 - FA Striker [striker@tiecorps.org]
If you happen to encounter a Battle or Free Mission that has bugs, do not attempt to correct it on your own (see the Cheating Policy). Only members of the Tactical Office staff are authorized to fix bugs in official missions.
However, authors of an official Battle or Free Mission may submit to the Tactical Officer an updated version of their work at any time, IF it fits the following conditions:
the latest corrections brought by the Tactical Staff must be taken into account (i.e. correct your work from the current official version)
the maximum reachable score cannot be lower than in the original mission, to prevent unreachable High Scores to occur. Maximum score can be higher though (i.e. don't remove or make invulnerable crafts which could be destroyed in the previous version, add additional bonus goals if necessary)
So, if you have an official mission or battle which needs correction, feel free to submit a corrected version; the Tactical Office keeps bringing corrections to online battles, but your work will be corrected and uploaded faster this way (And then you should only be able to blame yourself if it's still wrong...;))

EH Northwest meeting
23:15 - MAJ Charles Spencer [xdemosthenesx@hotmail.com]
After discussions with many people and the approval of certain Command Staff, I have decided to open a forum on the EH Northwest meeting. There are many people that live in or around the area of the Pacific Northwest in the United States and after discussing with many people I have come to the conclusion that a meeting in the Seattle area would be very feasible. To set up a discussion and see all who is interested in the EH I need such interested people to mail me (xdemosthenesx@hotmail.com) with a Subject: EH Northwest so I can add you to a mail string and update news as this Meeting formation progresses. A good number of us are in college so I would also like to set the meeting in a time that wouldn't interfere with Work and School schedules. I would love to hear your ideas and are looking forward to meeting many of you in person.

FCHG Creation Competition Results
08:51 - FA Striker [striker@tiecorps.org]
Last July, the Tactical Office organized a mission creation competition, the best submissions becoming FCHG Battles. After some long weeks of rating and correction, it is my pleasure to release you the results of this competition. Due to the quality of some submissions, it has been decided to release under "FCHG Battle" status the top 2 battles in each category. Without further waiting, here are the results:
Place TIE XvT / BoP XWA
1st
(IS-PR) LC Drake LC Marcin Szydlowski
CPT Wes Janson CPT RogueWing
LCM Grazioli
2nd
(IS-SR) MAJ Shae Kitane
RA Lohr Zadash VA Ender mBind FA Striker
3rd
(IS-BR) MAJ Beef LCM Caltin Doros CPT Gord Darkonian
MAJ Darksaber

All battles have been released and available for download from the Emperor's Hammer Battle Center.
For these who may wonder, TIE Battles have been rated and corrected by VA Troutrooper, XvT/BoP Battles rated by FA StarLion and corrected by LC Marcin Szydlowski, XWA Battles rated by COL Arso Slyth and corrected by yours truly.
The Tactical Office has decided to organize such a competition twice a year, for the Fleet Commander's and Emperor Hammer's birthdays. Thanks to all mission creators who have participated in this competition. Others submissions will be either released later this week or queued for review by the Tactical Staff.
I recommend everyone to fly these battles, which are from the best mission creators of the fleet !!!
