SQUADRON NEWS
Communication
Ok pilots, your FL’s are still reporting that not one FM reported in to them this week. LT Worde is exempt since I am his FL and I did hear from him this week. However, contacting me directly isn’t enough if you don’t have the courtesy to CC: your FL as well when sending out notifications of what you are or are not doing. From now on I expect each FM to report in to your FL by Friday of each week and notify him of what you have done for the week. This will include Message Board postings and listing which MB’s in the TC you were active on; missions or battles flown and received FCHG credit for; IWATS Courses taken and/or passed; and any other information related directly to activity that your FL needs to be aware of.
New Pilot
Everyone welcome our newest pilot, SL Metallic Raptor! Raptor joins us fresh from M/PLT Daedaleus and has been assigned to Samekh 2-2. Welcome aboard Raptor!!
Battle Citations
With the loss of LCM Justin to the Reserves and the new addition of SL Raptor, we now only have 2 Battle Citations. Aside from those listed below, any battle you can fly will help add more citations to our list over time. I am going to attempt to compile a list of which battles we are close to getting citations for and post that in the next report. In the meantime, if you haven’t flown any of these yet, then please do so that we can keep them in the future.

Activity
We lost LCM Justin to the Reserves, but we also gained a new pilot! Flight Activity is pretty regular now, and with LCM Soontir Fel back from leave and in his cockpit I’m sure we’ll be seeing an increase in activity as well. Everyone has done a great job this week of flying as time allows, especially with their activities to get ready for school monopolizing a great deal of time they used to have to fly. Keep up the great work Samekh, your making your CMDR proud! J
Recruiting
We are still in need of new pilots gentlemen. Let’s go get those new recruits pilots! ;) We need four more pilots to be a full squadron again! Your CMDR’s personal thanks to the members of Samekh that have taken the time to recruit. I encourage everyone to send out letters offering assistance to as many CT’s as you can. Remember, no invitations to join Samekh or Wing V are to be issued. Big Brother is watching the emails sent to Daedaleus, so don’t let me receive any notifications from the FO, TO, or SO about recruiting violations.

WING V NEWS
Wing V vs. Wing VIII Comp
Our August comp is vs. Wing VIII. We are flying TC TIE Battle 13 (attached). Deadline is Aug. 15. Scores of top 12 pilots will be counted. Top scorer in each wing will receive an IS-SW, runner-up an IS-BW.

for display on the home page of the wing that currently holds the title. A

LC Proton is now insisting that all members of Wing V get busy and get new recruits into our ranks. We are now down to 42 pilots in Wing V and we must get our numbers back up and improving!

Episode II Title: Attack of the Clones

The title for the next installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy will be entitled Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Like most Star Wars titles, this is a very blunt to-the-point title similar in such to Return of the Jedi. The following is taken from the news report posted on starwars.com:

EH Timeline - Thrawn Trilogy

As you may, or may not, know a competition based around the Emperor's Hammer Timeline which involves the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn is set to start on the 15th of August. This is set to be a huge project with around 120 missions required to get through the story, along with a lot of plot to accommodate for the involvement of all the subgroups of the Emperor's Hammer. New Fleet Wide Comp approaching, Every one to their battle posts!
Grand Admiral Thrawn has asked Grand Admiral Stephan Ronin if he was willing to send two top Emperor=B4s Hammer Squadrons to the ISD Chimaera to Help Grand Admiral Thrawn in his campaign against the New Republic. To decide which Emperor=B4s Hammer Squadrons will get such an Honor the Logistics Office Will run a Fleet Wide Comp.
Rewards are still being decided with Operations Office, but it will be more than Honor.
It will go like this:
TC Code Red - TC-wide 'Training' Competition
Pilots, you've been sitting on your laurels for too damn long. It's time to get out of the cantina and back into the cockpit. And no, I don't mean your fancy state-of-the-art Tie Defender with mini bar and shields. You fly with Thrawn, you fly Tie Fighters and Interceptors, or you don't fly at all.
Grand Admiral Thrawn has asked us to produce the two best squadrons in the EH, one equipped with the basic TIE software, and one squadron with our advanced XvT/XWA system. How we are supposed to pick the best out of you is a mystery to me. I wouldn't trust any of you to fly around the PLT Daedalus without crashing. But we've devised a plan to get the two most worthy squads aboard the ISD Chimaera in a few months with the following competition...
Stage One:
TIE Squadrons - Every TC/DB Squadron with TIE software will fly a training battle specifically tailored to the combat situations you might face aboard the Chimaera. (Thrawn hasn't divulged any of his plans to us yet, so don't assume these will be reproductions of future battles.) Squadrons will have 2 weeks to complete it. The winner of each Wing will proceed to Stage Two.
XvT/XWA Squadrons (single player only) - Same as above, except with XvT/XWA compatible missions.
Stage Two:
TIE Squadrons - The winners of each wing (along with TIE Elite Squadrons) will compete with a second training battle. Squadrons will have 2 weeks to complete it. The two top squadrons will face each other in Stage Three.
XvT/XWA Squadrons (single player only) - Same as above, except with XvT/XWA compatible missions and XvT/XWA Elite Squadrons.
Stage Three:
TIE Squadrons - The two top squadrons will face off against each other by flying a third and final training mission. Both contenders will have 1 week to complete it. The winning squadron will be transferred to the Chimaera.
XvT/XWA Squadrons (single player only) - Same as above, except with XvT/XWA compatible missions.
Scoring: Laserless scoring, and the determination on scores will be the gross total of the pilots' scores, not the average. So full, active squadrons will have an advantage. Start recruiting if you're worried.

SAMEKH WEEKY COMPETITION 2001
Ok, since it seems that everyone still serving in the squadron is all for it, then we shall continue the weekly squadron comp with the following missions:
Free-TIE #157, Free-XvT #41, and Free-XWA #5. All pilot files to be submitted no later than Saturday of each week. Missions are attached.
Since we have a couple of new pilots that haven’t ever participated in the weekly squadron comp, here’s the information for the comp: Each week a new battle is declared and all pilots compete to get the highest score they can. You get a point per battle flown and Kill point if you win that week. The overall winner at the end of the year receives a PC and the runner up will receive an ISM. Pilots, to your fighters!!
