Members of Talon Squadron
I write to you today to introduce myself, I am your new CMDR, Commander Keldorn. Having recently been appointed to the position I find myself at a disadvantage, I don't know any of you, but I would like to remedy this fact immeadiately. I ask that all of you reply to this small message and tell me a little about you, tell me what you hate, what you like and what you'd like to see happen to Talon Squadron in the future.
It is my aim to make Talon the best within Wing XX, and eventually within the entire Avenger Task Force. Although a formidable task, I'm sure it will be easier for me due to the fine examples of pilots that are already present within our Squad. All of you are exceptional members, not necessarily excellent pilots, but all of us have our individual merits, and those are what I hope to cater for.
I refuse to demand things of those under my command, I believe in providing a wide range of activities for members and allow them to decide which they would like to become involved in, and which they would prefer not to. All I do ask, and ask rather sternly, is that you keep in touch with me, and remain active if only in communication.
I am not concerned with how many Battles you fly in a month (Although large numbers would be nice) I am far more concerned with you enjoying your time with the Squadron. There is nothing better than being a part of an upstanding and content Squadron, whatever your individual talents and opinions.
With my arrival the Squadron currently has 1 Citation, although not a large number, it is definitely something to be proud of, and I would think of it as something to celebrate (If only champagne could be transferred online). I would like to build up the number of Citations our Squadron has, as it is an excellent gauge of the piloting commitment of a Squadron. If we can all manage to fly one Battle every once in a while, the Citations will soon mount up.
I am currently working on a new webpage for the Squadron, something which every new CMDR decides to do, whatever the standard of the previous page. This site will include several automated features, all that will be open for every member's use, so when the time comes I'll let you all know of the details.
I have approached several members, both those I know and those I have only heard of, about transferring into the Squadron. These members are all experienced individuals, and if they agree would be valuable additions to our Squadron.
I'll wrap this introductory report up now, as I'm sure you don't want to listen to me ramble on all day, which is my key fault.
I'll dispatch further details of my aims, and details on the specific activities I have planned at the weekend. I look forward to receiving your replies (However small!).
