CMDR’s Thoughts:
My apologies in advance if this report seems a bit boring. I’m very exhausted from all the running around I’ve had to do to help prepare my territory for the Launch of the MS Xbox on Nov. 15th. So everyone bear with me while I finish out this exhaustive phase, and then I’ll be back to my normal pessimistic self in no time! :P
A very slow week in activity. I am not overly impressed with this Squadrons overall activity, and if you can’t find a way to correct this yourselves, you can be sure this CMDR can find alternatives! So it is in your best interest to find something to do that reflects even minor activity on your part ASAP!!
Open FL Position
I’ve had a handful of inquiries into the open Flight II Flight Leader position, but after consulting with our WC, have decided to extend the application deadline for an additional week to allow time for anyone that may have been busy to be afforded the opportunity to apply. I’m also requesting that restraint and patience be shown while I receive applications and conduct interviews for the position. I’ve already had a couple of people ask me about when will I announce who the new FL will be, and so forth. When I have made my decision, and the FO has made it official, I when then announce the new FL. I’d also like to point out that applications for this position must include accurate information about yourself, and not information regarding someone else that may have applied. In other words, telling me why I shouldn’t select another applicant because of your personal feelings and RL or EH related problems with that person could have a negative impact on your own application! So lets just keep the applications narrowed down to what they are supposed to be about, that being why I should select you, and what your plans or ideas are for helping not only Flight II be more active, but also the entire Squadron.
FUN!
I want to remind everyone that we are here to have fun! Sitting around idle and only responding to AWOL Checks is not having fun. Since I’ve taken command of Asp I’ve had only a small number of BSF’s submitted to me, and very little communication circulating within the Squadron itself. We have an active MB for everyone to communicate through, supposedly an active egroup, which I am still attempting to get access to. We also have a mIRC channel, #wingxiv, where many members of Wing XIV get together and talk. You are pretty much guaranteed to find someone in the channel at all times. Then there’s the traditional email format, ICQ, etc. Then I guess I should also point out the main point of flying! Since we are now setup as both a SP and MP Squadron, there is absolutely no reason why my inbox shouldn’t be getting flooded with pilot files and notices of LoC’s being awarded each week! Again, you all joined the EH/TC and Asp of your own free will, so obviously you joined for a reason. If you have any questions, concerns, opinions, advice, etc. to add, feel free to email me directly with them. I want to see more communication within this Squadron. The only way this Squadron can be even greater is if everyone is talking to each other, getting to know one another, and finding out each others likes and dislikes so that we can be effective during competitions!

Ø Wing XIV Roster currently stands at 49! This is some great growth in just a couple of weeks! Keep recruiting, we’ll be full in no time!!
EH/TC News:
Ø XWA ingame cheats: It has been noticed by MAJ Linkan, and verified by FA Striker (TAC), that using the Unlimited Ammo Cheat while flying in XWA does not decrease your overall points. Apparently only using the Invulnerability feature will reduce your points while flying. It also appears that this is how many pilots, with High Scores in XWA Battles and Free Missions, have been racking up such outrageous scores in recent months. So FA Striker has decided that since it is tolerated by the TAC to use this feature that everyone should know about this knew information in order to be fair to all pilots!
Ø New weekly competition: RA Brucmack is pleased to announce the creation of a new weekly competition... The Night of the Lost Souls! It will take place Thursdays from 3:00-5:00 PM EST, or 20-22 GMT. Matchmaking will be done in #EHCOC as with all combat events, but participants are encouraged to socialize in #ISD_Immortal, as the Immortal is hosting this competition. Happy hunting everyone!
Ø 2nd Polish EH Meeting: (LC Mike) - Most of you probably didn't know that we has meeting of Polish pilots last summer. Yes, we are going to do it again, but this time with better participation and an even bigger party. Just like last year, the meeting will take place near city of Bialystok. If you don't know where it is, check 200kms east from capital city of Warsaw. The location is in a great summer house among the woods. Swimming pool included! :) I am going to organize it again, but time a bit later. Let's say around 10th of the July 2002. If you would like to join us, just e-mail. If you need more information, do it too. Last summer we had 10 participating EH Pilots and I want to see more next year!
Squadron Commander’s Orders:
Ø All pilots that have not yet reported in to LC Striker need to do so immediately.
Ø All pilots are required to dress in the new Standard Duty Uniform. If you are unable to create your own uniform contact LC Striker ASAP and he will make you a new uniform. Templates for the new Standard Duty Uniform are available at: http://www.uwinnipeg.ca/~howlader/ops/archive.htm
Ø A Squadron Readiness Exercise is now in effect. All pilots will complete one or both of the following battles no later than 10.31.01: XvT-TC #10 and XWA-TC #19. All pilot files must be submitted no later than 10.31.01 in order to be counted for the Readiness Exercise. This is a training tool for the CMDR to gauge the Squadrons ability to participate in future competition events.
Ø All pilots will be evaluated on their performance over the next two weeks in order to determine criteria for future promotions and awards. FL’s will assist with supplying recommendations and information relating to recent activity on each FM.
Ø All pilots are encouraged to fly all of the XvT-TC Battles to earn us even more Battle Citations! We are now down to 7 Citations!!

Battles to fly:
Borrowing from MAJ Idaho, all pilots of Asp Squadron are invited to fly all of the XvT-TC Battles that they can in order to win the Squadron more Battle Citations. The Battle Citation list will be kept updated weekly so that everyone can see the progress we are making in winning more citations. If everyone flies ALL of the XvT-TC Battles then we will easily have a total of 17 Battle Citations from that platform alone! So lets get to it and win some citations!!
