Top Dog Competition is on and in FULL SWING. Lets keep pumping out those IWATS, and battles. If you have XvT or TIE, don't be shy...do those too! LCM Goad, LT Remlinger, and myself are doing XvT missions to see if we can earn some Unit Citations...and to show everyone that pilots on the Vanguard aren't just into XwA MP stuff! Let's show them WHY we're the best!!! We can beat them at their own game!!!

Ok, here we go...
1) We have a Weekly Trivia Competition in effect. Everyone in the Squadron is invited to participate, and we would appreciate it if everyone at least gives it a try...the questions are posted new each week on Monday @ the Message Board...the prizes for the First Place winner are: (1) IS: BR, and a $10 gift certificate for Amazon.com (supplied by me hehe).
2) Every Wednesday night there is an ASF MP Competition, held in IRC channel #EHCOC. So far, the only Mantis guys who have been showing up are myself, Lt. Remlinger, and our ace Lt. Broskopf...it's a good night to play guys...alot of newer people playing...This counts toward the ASF Comp the BGCOM is holding, so tally up your scores and send them to me.
3) We have a NEW Mantis Run-On now on the Messageboard. Stop by and check it out! When we finish it, we'll post it to the EH Newsletter as a squadron project!
4) We are down to 8 Unit Citations. While this may seem bad, it's actually a result of good recruiting. So, keep pumping out those battles!
5) Mantis Message Board. It's getting used ALOT now, and I"m proud of all of you! Let's keep that thing active. Remember: 250 posts gets you a Medal.
6) We are running a competition until the 21st of November for top scorer of the XWA-FCHG #1 Battle. So far, CM Lazzak is in the lead with over 27,500 points (that's right, he REFLEW it like I stated you could, and scored 2,000 pts higher!). For those of you who don't have the time to do Multiplayer combat, this is a competition you can win. Not only can you get an Iron Star with Bronze Wings out of it, you get the unit a Citation, you get yourself some FCHG points (6), you get some TOP DOG points, and you help your team mates.
7) NEW MANTIS IRC CHANNEL. We now have our very own mIRC Channel on the Undernet system. The channel is: #Mantis_ReadyRoom. From now on, we will be conducting all meetings, training, and gatherings in there.
8) Meeting Night. Please contact the XO, LCM Goad, and let him what nights would be best for you for a Squadron Meeting. THIS MEETING NEEDS TO HAVE AT LEAST 75% ATTENDANCE....this meeting needs to be held by the end of the month.
9) MiB. The Mantis Interactive Battle is back on schedule. I have begun work on Mission #1. Storyline is finished. If anyone would like to see it, please contact me.
10) Recruiting. LT. Remlinger has recruited Cadet Drake Jensen into the Tie Corps, and he will be posting orders for Mantis this week. He has already flown with us in two competitions. Make sure and welcome aboard this future addition to the Mantis Family.
11) Good work! I am happy to say that we have had a RECORD week for activity! Keep up the good work guys!
12) PILOT OF THE WEEK. Another stellar week for the majority of the squadron....this is hard. However, I do think that every week the pilot that shines just a little bit brighter should be recognized. Therefore, in light of all of his hard work, LT. Serge Broskopf is this week's P.O.T.W. Congrats, LT! Keep up the good work! Keep pumping out those LoCs!
