COMPETITION NEWS

1. ECR - Graphics phase is about to end, we've all submitted so we can relax until the next part starts.
2. Com's Flag Comp Pilots are to design a new flag/Insignia for me :) this flag/insignia will be presented to the COM's selected pilot each month (i.e: COM's Own) dealine date is 13th November and submissions are straight to me. Winner picks up an IS-SR and runner up an IS-BR.

3. Motto Comp Pilots will create a new motto and nickname for the ship, same deadline and medals as above.

Go download mIRC, and come online and chat to me or anyone else on the Col. #ISD_colossus on any undernet server.

All Competitions other than the ECR are suspended. Once it’s over I’ll be on the look out for other squads to challenge.

SQUADRON NEWS

First I would like to welcome SL Talas to Eta, now LT Talas after one day,he has just joined us from the Daedalus. We also see the return of CM Wap Eal :)
I'll be moving Talas into Flight III to balance out the members for each Flight Leader. I'm not sure how long it will be before it's official, but Phalk you can assume Talas is under your command from now.

Hopefully once ECR is finished I'll be able to try some Flight Vs Flight comps.

We also have some of our citations back, nine to be exact. Anyone who hasn't flown battles 4, 6, 7, 8 should try first. Then we can have citations for the first 10 battles.

Tactical Manual updated
Version 1.6 of the Tactical Manual has been uploaded. Updates are about Combined Arms Battles, Medals of Tactics, length of TIE Battles, and the Cheating Policy concerning unlimited weapons in XWA and reflying XvT missions.

COMMANDER'S CORNER

Lots of changes this week. In one swift move our numbers shot up from 5 to 7. This now makes us the joint largest squadron in the wing, and hopefully we can stay there.

We've had a pretty poor week for BSFs due to PC/Net problems that Mark and Phalk are having, but thanks to everyone else who flew (Trowa + Zept). New people should check out the standing orders below or go to the website, with seven pilots we shoulld be constantly at the top of the BSF count each week/month. I'd like to see us getting squadron of the week and WCs own a few times rather than just being runners-up.

STANDING ORDERS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, they have finally been made official. So anyone basically not following them are subject to being removed.

1. I expect all FMs to contact their Flight Leaders at least once a week, either by email, ICQ or IRC etc.

2. I expect everyone to participate in all competitions, except when there is a clash with important RL events, i.e. exams, illness etc
3. I want everyone to fly at least one battle or two free missions a week, alternatively you can create graphics, write fiction or create missions as long as the effort is the same as flying a battle or mission. Competition TFRs count as double, so you only need to fly one free mission if it's for a comp.

4. Flight Leaders - You will report to me at the end of each week detailing which of members of their flight have or haven't reported in and what they've done during the past week. Also, you will pass on to me any TFRs, fiction, graphics etc. you receive from your pilots.

5. Flight leaders - You are expected to be an example to your flight members and should typify what they are trying to become. I expect regular contact from you and input into how the squadron should be run and any changes that could be made for the better.

It doesn't take long to fly 2 free missions, you can even do it on easy if you must, you only need to fly on hard when it's a comp and scores are important.
