Greetings my little minions J This is your new brilliant/amazing/charming Commander reporting in with his first WSR (well OK, it’s my fourth or so WSR, but my first after being announced CMDR). It’s been a nice quiet week which is good because it means I don’t get confused about what you’ve been doing, and it’s given me time to get all my files and documents organised for commanding the Squad. However, It’s also bad because you should be working hard! On with the report…  

Snail’s Log

[Sunday June 30^th]

Last day of the month – which means it’s MSE time L I got up early this morning (around 0700), so I could get I out of the way and then practise my flying in the combat simulators. Took a bit longer than expected, but I was all finished and had it delivered in time for lunch.

A couple of hours later I was in my office talking to Urza when the doorbell rang, and in walked Wes. I was quite surprised to see him, as he normally called before dropping in.

“Hello Sir, err… Wes; What brings you here?”

“Hey Girth, Urza, I’ve just received a message from Tom that I thought you should see.”

“Is he OK?” I asked.

“Oh yeah, he’s fine, it’s just… well watch the transmission.”

“Should I leave?” mumbled Urza.

“No, I see no reason why you can’t hear it.”

Wes walked over to my desk, inserted the datacard into the appropriate slot, and a midget version of Tom Solo popped up out of the desk.

“… And so, you see, this is why I must hand my position of Commander over to Girth.”

The image faded.

“Think about it, Girth”, said the Wing Commander as he retrieved his card.

Later still…

I walked out of the Wing Commander’s office. I had accepted the promotion. There was no doubt in my mind, really. I knew that I wanted it. Now just to wait for the high-up people to make it official.

[Wednesday 3^rd July]

Busy day. This morning I found out that there were still three places open in “Wolf Squadron”, so I decided to apply, and now I find myself occupying second position of the third Flight. This afternoon I’ve had lessons from Hev in lightsaber combat – turns out that behind that Gungan skin he’s quite a good teacher J My muscles ache… I’m going to bed.

SQUADRON MATTERS

Headline: CM Thomas Solo has stepped down due to a period of extended leave coming up, and so LCM Girth Snail will be taking his place. You’ve been a great CMDR and it’s a shame you couldn’t hold the position longer. We’ll all miss you lots and lots J Have a good summer, and come back soon. The squad won’t be the same without you.

2. LT TK-8969 won’t be transferred to the reserves (just yet) as he reported in, which is a good thing J

3. LCM Joey C requested transfer to the reserves, which is a bad thing L Come back to Valkyrie as soon as you can!

4. LT Urza is Scholar of the Week J Good work! You should be gettin IS-SR soon. 

5. LCM Girth has got into the JK2 flight of Wolf Squad. Yey! Way to go!

CHALLENGE TIME!!!!!

    Here's the plan. During the last month, two Wing's in the Corps have topped 3000 missions in a month... now it's our turn. Myself, I managed to fly 1200 missions in the course of a little over a month. If I can do that, why can 50 of us break 3000?

    So here's your incentive: To EVERYONE who flies (IF we break 3000 missions), I'll award everyone who flew less than 100 missions an ISM, everyone who flew more than 100 a PC, and everyone who flies 300 or more will get a BS in all likelyhood.

    If we break 4000, I'll find more suiting rewards. To people who fly something like 600 and up, you'll get something infinitely shinier. :P
