Last week of Top Dog. Thank the Stars!!! It was a great competition, and we put up a GREAT fight. If we are beaten, so be it. It was a close race between us and Scorpion. All of you guys should be proud of yourselves, and each other. I am very proud of each and every one of you that participated. Even if we do not win WC Own this month, we have won some other things...like the respect of some of the most senior pilots in the ASF (Scorpion), the recognition of the higher officers, and the friendship of one another. I am proud to call each and every one of you my friend. We have trained together, fought together, and helped each other out in things outside the TC. I have gained a tremendous amount of respect for each and every one of you.

Ok, here we go...
1) We have a Weekly Trivia Competition in effect. Everyone in the Squadron is invited to participate, and we would appreciate it if everyone at least gives it a try...the questions are posted new each week on Monday @ the Message Board...the prizes for the First Place winner are: (1) IS: BR, and a $10 gift certificate for Amazon.com (supplied by me hehe).
2) Every Wednesday night there is an ASF MP Competition, held in IRC channel #EHCOC. So far, the only Mantis guys who have been showing up are myself, Lt. Remlinger, and our ace Lt. Broskopf...it's a good night to play guys...alot of newer people playing...This counts toward the ASF Comp the BGCOM is holding, so tally up your scores and send them to me.
3) The Mantis Run-On is up and running. Currently, there are only 4 posts on it...go check it out!
4) This week we hit an all-time low of 6 unit citations. No big deal, because at the time of this report's creation, we are back up to 9! Good work guys! Remember, there are roughly 30 battles right now that we are merely 1 or 2 completions shy of for a Citation...contact Lt. Remlinger for assignment.
5) Mantis Message Board. It's getting used ALOT now, and I"m proud of all of you! Let's keep that thing active. Remember: 250 posts gets you a Medal.
6) Aces High Competition is FINISHED! Our Mantis Ace for the month is: Lt. Drax Remlinger !!! Great Job. He fought hard against LCM Zoron, and they are both great pilots!
7) NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICER. As you all know, LCM Daniel Goad is now COMMANDER Daniel Goad of Hornet Squadron (lots of cheering) !!! Our new XO and II Flight FL is LCM Kenath Zoron. He is a good friend of mine from Epsilon Squadron (that's right guys, Wing I, the ORIGINAL bad boys of the Tie Corps!). Don't forget to CC: him on all administrative emails/requests.
8) Meeting Night. Please contact the XO, LCM Zoron, and let him what nights would be best for you for a Squadron Meeting. THIS MEETING NEEDS TO HAVE AT LEAST 75% ATTENDANCE....this meeting needs to be held by the end of the year.
9) MiB. The Mantis Interactive Battle is back on schedule. I have begun work on Mission #1. Storyline is finished. If anyone would like to see it, please contact me.
10) Week of War Co-Op. I need a head count of people in the squadron who are willing to work on a SPECIAL project: members of Mantis, Vortex, and Scorpion squadrons are going to get together to help out the EH in the next Week of War on Battlestats/Zone. This will be a concentrated effort by all volunteering pilots to work TOGETHER to defeat the enemies of the EH. Bring glory to the squadron, bring honor to the Vanguard, bring Victory to the Emperor's Hammer!
11) IMPORTANT! Now that the Top Dog Competition is almost over, we're going to be doing alot of in-house cleaning and organizing. The Flight Leaders and myself will be meeting very soon on IRC to begin discussions as to the futur of Mantis Squadron. If you have any ideas, please let us know. 2002 is the year for change in Mantis, so let's make it for the better, and let's make it together!
12) PILOT OF THE WEEK. This week's P.O.W. is Lt. Drake Jensen. He has attended competitions, worked on battles, and spent tremendous amounts of time online for the Squadron. Way to go Lt. Jensen!
FINAL NOTES: I would like everyone to please let me know what your plans are for Christmas. If you are going to be 'on leave' please let myself and the XO know a few weeks in advance, so that we can plan accordingly.
