KAPPA SQUADRON REPORT, 21st May 2002, Captain Algaron

- The Kappa vs. Praetorian Squadron competition has come to end. Despite an impressive fightback by the elite Praetorians in the final week we have managed to secure a glorious victory by a margin of 43336 points. I hope this victory will put Kappa on the map as one of the finest Squadrons in the TC. We all deserve a big celebration - beers are on me (and Temp, who as top overall scorer for Kappa will receive the IS-BW). Full details are on the Kappa website. The top three Kappa overall points scorers receive a 4,3 & 2 KAPS point bonus respectively.
- If you were thinking of maybe having a rest after seeing off Prae then think again. Another challenger has come forward looking for a piece of us. Hammer Squadron will be a tough nut to crack and we will need to be on top of our game to come through victorious. The format will be very similar to the Prae competition, but expect more details soon.
- Dash Riprock continues to work on the KSE site. The website URL for his work in progress site is http://minos.net/~kse/news.php
- Dash is also nearing completion of the Kappa Battle Board which will keep track of all battles/missions flown by the Squadron and of course be a helpful guide as we look to build up our citations. - Tempest has finished work on his Cadet Guide. It's an excellent piece of work and I advise you all to check it out and if you come across any likely recruits point them towards it. The URL is

- Further underlining his role as Kappa Recruitment Co-ordinator, Temp has been awarded the Medal of Instruction for his assistance in training to SL TK-9082. Congratulations Temp! Ironically the cadet in question has joined Tempest Squadron - how's that for a slap in the face!
- Flight II has come up with their motto - virtute et armis (By Valour and Arms) - credit has to go to Tod for getting everyone organised.
- Flight III has come up with their new motto - mors ipsa nos refugit (Death itself flees us).
- We had a good turnout in the last Imperial Storm III skirmish, and I will expect more of the same in the next on May 25th - as always check the latest details on the official website.

- Fly TIE-TC 165 for the Wing competition against Wing I - the deadline is 29th May - I expect 100% participation.

- The New Face of Kappa - now we just need the new Squadron motto - I'll be making a decision on this based on numerous suggestions sometime this week.
- Kappa Squadron Encylopaedia - if you have any submissions email them to Dash and myself and I will award KAPS points for your work.
- Fiction Competition - as you know I am writing a fictional epic titled "Apocalypse Rising" - I've written the prologue, but Chapter 1 will be bang up to date and incorporate all of you guys. I therefore want you to write your own mini-autobiographies so that I get an impression of how to build your personalities into the finished work. It doesn't have to be overlong - just something that I can use to help writing your character into my story - attitudes, allignments, physical appearance, mentality etc. - be creative, but be serious. I will also publish any work on your profile page of the Kappa HP. If I could have submissions by the end of the month it would be most appreciated. I'll give 5 KAPS points for entries, and a further 5 for the one I judge to be the best. Get that creative juice flowing. Keep those entries coming in.
