If only the good die young, then I must be ancient. With that, here's your report for the week. |

Tempest Squadron Orders |
It's competition time!- Fly FreeTIE-149 by March 18th for our OmicronComp.
- Partake in the "Ultimate Challenge" proposed by our friends over on the Colossus. Sounds like a tough one so we'll see how we do! Click here for details or click here for the battle.
- Take an IWATS course (or two or three) unless you're like me, in which case you've finished all IWATS courses. >:D
- Recruit some more pilots for the squad. 6 is ok, but it's not great and besides, you get medals and stuff for recruiting from outside the EH.

News |
Fleet News As mentioned, the Prelude to Andevia comp has been extended by a week. All competition materials are due on the 14th (that's Thursday) so there's still time to fly for the comp or even write some fiction. For details click here.Design an Advanced Guard banner and submit it for the chance to win fabulous cash and prizes!... well, an IS-GR anyway, which is nothing to scoff at. There aren't any real specifications, but it should be of "tasteful size" and submitted by the 18th (next Monday) to VA Jacob Van NowakThe FMC is open again, but Mell doesn't want any FMC on his ships because CMDRs are funny enough to raise morale and we prefer to nurse the bottle anyway. ;DA new website has poped up dealing with cross-platform compatability between Windows, Mac, and UNIX machines for Star Wars games and mods. Check it out here. There's a new Jedi Knight 2 trailer. Download it from here. Also, the new Episode II trailer has been released. I'm told that you can download it from StarWars.com, but I haven't been able to check yet because I've been busy playing with antimatter. :-DCongrats to our FO, Priyum Patel, who has been awarded the MoH... my own application for the MoH must be stuck in committee somewhere. ;-)The TIE Corps website has moved to Emperorshammer.net... so now you get to check there for all the news you missed. Finally, our beloved BGCOM, Mellie, has been promoted to full Admiral! 'Grats m8! :-D
Wing News Ok, I promise that this'll be a little shorter... The War of the Worlds continues with yet another critical move... too many more of these and I'll get sweaty palms. :-PGA Master continues to be accepting surrenders but GA Boliv said "oh no you don't" in no uncertain terms before smacking him with a banana creme pie. Master was quoted as saying "YOU'LL PAY FOR... mmm, this is fresh, isn't it? It's really good! I'll have to get the recipe."Mai was missing, but we believe we have located her. She and Lee appear to be at a hotel, taking delivery and leaving the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door. Being naturally curious as to their WC's condition, we will be sending in a small bug with one of the deliveries compete with live webcam and microphone.A fight has broken out in the bridge between the Cheetah, the Gopher and Boliv over who is the new challenge mascot. Boliv has somehow managed to stuff the gopher into the cheetah causing much discomfort to both. More banana creme pies are on their way.
Squadron News This one will be even shorter... Omicron Comp is underway.Rover and Dirk got the top scores for TC-92 and, as such, will be facing off against Mem Squad in a 2 on 2. Keyman will join 'em if I can talk the Mem CMDR into turning it into a 3 on 3 so that we can get some medals.Kaneda celebrates one month in command of Tempest and his completion of IWATS... He's still recovering from that last litre of Chalquila.Chris is turning into the next Pele! Details on this and doctored photos of Dirk winning the motorcross challenge are coming in next week's "Moment of Zen: The Swimsuit Issue!"Activity is up this week and Kaneda is happy. :-D |

And now, your moment of Zen... |
Last week I promised you a few of the best Adlib submissions. "A few" technically implies plurality, but that's difficult when I only recieve one. So I'm going to feature that and do a little something more just to make it feel like it was worth your time to read this far... you did read the rest of the report, didn't ya?
Anyway, here's the submission I got from Kane's FL, Dirk Logan: The other day, SL Kane was skipping around the docking bay. Suddenly Locke appeared behind him, catching him by surprise. Kane was told that he would be on ewok watch detail for having missed evil laugh training that morning. Though he tried to explain he had a sore throat that morning, there seemed to be no way of evading fate this time. With ablect humiliation , Kane skipped into his repulser scooter , landing directly onto something quite soft and squishy . " Golly gee wizz ", he said "It's an LT badge. I wonder..." He looked up and noticed the discarded wig , clown shoes , and a cloak laying in a pile on the floor and Kaneda skipping scurring away, in a clever attempt not to be seen.
As for the remaining 30 seconds of Zen (if you consider a moment to be roughly a minute, tho it can seem like hours when waiting for technical support), here are the top five (or half of a top ten ;-D) movies for which you already knew the ending going into the theater:
Star Wars: Special Edition - I hope you saw Star Wars before it was re-released.
Titanic - yup...the boat sinks. :-P
Star Trek... any of 'em - Kirk/Picard successfully defend some species from some other spiecies, Klingons or the Borg are often involved and everyone almost dies... sometimes twice.
James Bond... any of 'em - Using some really sweet equiptment Bond saves the world from some villin nobody's ever heard of before by killing the bad guy and getting the girl(s).
That one movie that everyone at work/school has been talking about so someone has inevitably spilled the beans on what happens to that one guy or what's-her-face.
Well, that's all the news that's fit to print and most of the news that isn't.
