Squadron News:
Colonel Calias has begun construction of a new Iota web site.
Attempting to recruit new pilots to Iota, if you know of any RSVs that are ready to be active
please contact them and myself and we'll see about getting them a transfer to Iota.
Motto/nick name competition announced, still going over the submissions. Keep them coming!
Squadron IRC meeting announced for this sunday at 3 PM EST. Channel #Iota, nothing official
just a chance for us all to get together and get to know each other better.
Wing News:
March Non-Flying Competition reminder, topic is History of the ISD Colossus. Commissioned
shortly after the destruction of the first Death Star, the ISD Colossus was one of the first ships
of the new Imperator Mark II class of star destroyer. Lost mostly to history now, the past of the
ISD Colossus has been misplaced over the years. Much of this owed to the diabolical at Endor.
But in the 15 years the Colossus has patrolled Imperial space she has had a rich and proud history.
We have began an extensive research operation, which will scour through endless amounts of
datafiles on the holo-net and what data banks were saved from the Imperial Navy central command
on Courscant. This will be a timely process but information is already beginning to pour in. From
details of past combat actions (mission design phase) to reports by former crewmen of day to day life
aboard the Colossus (fiction writing phase) and we have even found holo-pictures of the Colossus
from her oringal shake down cruise (graphic design phase).
Competition ends March 31st, lets get some submissions in ! remember it is only single mission design,
for any platform, TIE/XvT/BoP/XWA. Also fiction and graphic design as well. Feel free to e-mail the
squadron and talk about any ideas you have!
Also just yesterday Commander Zept Leeartic was promoted to Squadron Commander of Mu squad.
Congradulations to Zept and best of luck to him with his first command.
Fleet News:
A new Combat Operations Officer has been selected by the Fleet Commander, congratulations
is in order for newly promoted Vice Admiral Khadgar.
Tactical Officer on leave, Fleet Admiral Striker is presently onleave till March 31st.
Vice Admiral Toran Dan has resigned his command of the ISD Immortal. We are all sadden to see
such a fine officer step down. Filling the Commodore spot is the now former Wing XI Wing
Commander, newly promoted Rear Admiral Darksaber. Thankfully the Immortal is yet in good hands
with the promotion of Darksaber to Commodore!
Three Sovereign Wing Commanders have been promoted in the past week, two to General and one to
full Colonel, congratulations to Generals Reapear, Sickman and to Colonel Kalar.
In other news, an old friend from my early days on the ISD Grey Wolf , and fine officer Vice Admiral
Jeff "Tiger" Loruss has been promoted to full Admiral.
