Tempest Squadron Weekly Report |
|
(3.24.2002) |
Mike: Why have I been cursed with such Irish pants!?
Fred: It's all part of Ireland's devious plan to take over the world through clever use of the color green. 90% of the color green is exported from Ireland.
Mike: Where does the other 10% come from?
Fred: Kitten supercollider experiments.

Tempest Squadron Orders |
More comps!- Fly FreeTIE-160 for our Shield Comp (due 3/28/2002, that's this Thursday). Once you're done with this check with the Tempest competition schedule for the other missions that you should be flying.
- Partake in the "Ultimate Challenge" proposed by our friends over on the Colossus. Sounds like a tough one so we'll see how we do! Click here for details or click here for the battle.
- Take an IWATS course (or two or three)... even I have an IWATS course to take again! :-D
- Recruit some more pilots for the squad. 6 is ok, but it's not great and besides, you get medals and stuff for recruiting from outside the EH.

News |
Fleet News SA Astatine is looking for feedback on his job as XO thus far. Just log into the TIE Corps domain to give your impression of him thus far and ask him to send me lots of money. :-DThere's a new IWATS course on XML! If you don't know anything about XML or if you want to try your hand at it, check it out here!As the TIE Corps database becomes better situated on the new TIE Corps domain (at http://www.emperorshammer.net) more options are becoming re-available. You can look for the Tempest Squadron Weekly Report on our squadron's report page again. As always see all the TIE Corps news on the TIE Corps Domain.
Wing News The first round of battles is complete, ending in a draw. Tempest was routed in the XWA portion of the comp (it's a good thing we're not an XWA wing ;-D) by their Beefy nemisises and Typhoon said "booya" to Tornado. When asked for a comment, Supreme Admiral Kaneda said "uhh... whoops."Other CMDRs besides Kaneda start posting news on the ISD Challenge website, and there was much rejoicing. *yay*
Squadron News We wrapped up a couple competitions this week with 100% participation in both of 'em! Great job guys!In the Wing X War mission, we took the victory, but one of the Thunerian pilots gets the IS-BW for the high score. In our competition against Sin, we won in total points, they won in average and took the IS-BW, but only two of their pilots flew. All in all, I'm very happy with our performance. :-DMore competitions are coming our way... Keep an eye on the Tempest competition schedule that I've posted, and stay tuned for hints and other assorted stuff. |

And now, your moment of Zen... |
Welcome to the Moment of Zen: The Swimsuit Edition. This week in sports we have some exciting sports coverage as well as some not-so-much-coverage with EH standard issue bathing suits. First up, Prost Varsis was injured earlier this week when he and the rest of Tempest squadron participated in a fairly action-packed round of "Pin the LT badge on the Lieutenant" following Prost's promotion! Congratulations Prost, and I'm sure those puncture wounds will heal fast. This incident teaches us some very valuable lessons such as: play the game BEFORE getting completely drunk in the Cantina; and replace the pin with tape or other less-painful attaching mechanism.
Dirk in action. | Next up, we turn our attention to motor-cross racing. Our own Dirk Logan took first place by 15 minutes in his TIE interceptor. We see Dirk here lapping the second and third place riders for the 25th time. The judges were left scratching their heads and wondering if they need to claify "motor bike" in the rule book. They have also just instituted an "Ion cannon only" rule due to Dirk's rather liberal use of turbo lasers during the race. When asked to comment, Dirk only mentioned that he was able to put the last place contenders out of their misery.
CM John |
CM Jane | Finally, the spring fashions in the EH are here! Traditional black seems to be the color of choice this spring as fashioned here by CM's John and Jane. While being a foreboding color, black also makes the wearer appear more fit, as shown by John. Easy pearce fabric allows the wearer to pin their rank badges right on their suit so that others can easily identify them in the pool and avoid pulling rank *wink*. There has been some talk of pursuing the Ed, Edd, and Eddy Ltd. idea of a "mankini" which would allow the men to wear their rank badge over their right breast as the women already can, but test markets still show a lack of interest. More on that next year on your Moment of Zen: The Swimsuit Edition.
Well, that's all the news that's fit to print and most of the news that isn't.
