Python Report # 7 (2002-04-01)

This report was submitted by CM Johann Glorick

Python Weekly Report (28/Jan/2002)

<SALUTE>

As of this week I have accomplished the first of my goals. Python Squadron, has been named WC's Own for the Month of March! That means that thanks to your activity we have been declared the most active and recognizable squadron for the last month. It is a great thing to lead a group of pilots who are able to dedicate themselves to the values that make the TC and our ship great. You should all be so proud of what you have accomplished.

However, this is not the end of the exciting news for this week, LT Narnil, one of the newest of our ranks, has been declared COM Protector for March. This means that of all the pilots on board this ship he has shown more activity than all of them. I am proud to have members like him as a part of this squadron. We have now proven that we can do great things, lets be sure to keep it up for next week.

Lets keep up the activity, especially in light of ASF SC III starting, the newsletter that was sent out contained details about its function. Also, today CPT Blair Vallyn was awarded the CMDR position of Wasp Squadron. I hope he will revitalize them as he started with us, and I wish him good luck on his new posting.

And now, on with the report :)

Imperial Storm Website
09:40 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
The Imperial Storm III website is now online for viewing. It contains the rules, fleet lists and all the other resources pilots need to take part in this TIE Corps-wide wargame. If you have any questions about ImpStorm, then please email the Flight Officer or WO/VA Pel.

ASF Supremacy Competition
09:37 - AD Cyric [jroscoe@bellatlantic.net]
The Aggressor Strike Force Squadron Competition started approx. 2.5 - 3 years ago under then AD Priyum. Its goal was to create an atmosphere for the ASF where everysingle piece of activity was graded or scored, and each and every pilot had an opportunity to gain medals for this activity. It sought to find which squadron was the best in the ASF.

Of the activities graded: MP, SP, mission creation, battle creation, fiction, medals earned, Iwats courses completed, Recruitment, Graphics, to name a few are scored. I have also included WoW standings (1st,2nd,3rd asf pilots in the WoWs). Good luck to all ASF Squadrons and Pilots in this competition.

New Wing XV WC
09:30 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
With the resignation of Colonel Garik Hizad earlier this week, a new Wing Commander for Wing XV is already in place...congratulations to the former Scorpion Commander, Major Ekim Yellek!

Stardestroyer.org Redirection Service
23:37 - Alex Foley [alexfoley@dombek.com]
For about a year now, the Internet Office has been working (and primarily taking breaks in working) on a site redirection service for the Emperor's Hammer, similar to TSX and CJB.net. Well, that service is now a reality.

Stardestroyer.org, my domain, now hosts this service. Any EH member can apply for a http:// yourname.stardestroyer.org redirect, free-of-charge and free-of-porn-banners. Since TSX redirects will soon be banned by the EH, I suggest you switch over now. The sign-up takes 2 seconds, and your account is activated immediately!

Take a few moments of your time to check it out:

ENDING: 4.4.2002

Newsletter submission reminder
18:07 - SA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
Just a reminder that submissions for the Newsletter will be accepted up until the 1st of April this time. This is due to the release of Jedi Outcast and I would just love some reviews of the game. If you want to write a review, you'll need the following information in it:

  • Your ID line, obviously
  • Your system's specs (at least include CPU, RAM, video card and operating system. If you want to be picky and include more, that's up to you)
  • Areas you might want to consider when writing your review would be sound, graphics, plot/storyline, control and how much the lightsaber kicks ass (or doesn't if that's the case)
  • A final summary and/or score
  • Some pictures would be nice too
Also, if you have a more general article idea relating to Jedi Outcast, the original Jedi Knight or Lucasarts/Star Wars games in general, send them in too.

Provisional #tiecorps ops levels
18:00 - SA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
After consultation with the Flight Officer, the following ops levels have been decided at regarding the #tiecorps channel.

Position
Ops level
Wing Commanders
100
Commodores
200
Battleground Commanders
300

If you want ops and hold one of these positions, please contact myself or the Flight Officer via email.

Project: Hawkeye - The Aftermath
12:48 - FA Ari [ari@tiecorps.org]
After 3 weeks, Project Hawkeye is finally completed. Many of you are curious what it was all about. You can find all the information you need at the Hawkeye Aftermath site now, including answers to the qualification test, the winners and other agents, the datapad, and of course, both EH and NIF sets of missions - all 10 missions for each side include solutions and some contain excerpts from selected agents' responses. Please make use of these extremely valuable site, especially if you plan on applying for Hawkeye II. We've learned a lot from this run and many of the missions you see on the site may be repeated in some form or another in the next episode. I'd also like to thank the Hawkeye Admin and Dev Staff who all put up with me when I tried to make sure everything went perfect. Indeed, it did - everything went really well, and I hope the agents enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

The Project Hawkeye Aftermath site can be found here.

FO's note: Congrats to Ari on his promotion to Fleet Admiral!

Email updates
07:22 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
FYI, ATF Battlegroup Commander, Admiral Jeff Loruss has updated his email address to tiger01@cableone.net. The Battlegroups Commander, Admiral Mell, has also updated his email address to mell@tiecorps.org.

The Art of Star Wars
07:19 - LCM Talon Zetar [talon-zetar@isdchallenge.org]
For any Star Wars fans in Scotland, there is currently an Exhibition of Star Wars art work, models and costumes. It is at the City Arts Centre on Market Street in Edinburgh. It is open from 10am to 6pm Mon, Tues, Fri and Sat, 10am to 8pm Wed and Thur, noon to 5pm on Sunday. Price is £6, £4.50 concs. It is on now until Sep 8th. It contains things like conceptual drawings, artwork of sets (The Hoth landscape is amazing), Production models (including X-Wings, Star Destroyers and Super Star Destroyers as well as the Millennium Falcon!). Also on display are costumes, the droids, Darth Vader, a shop, software room and in the entrance hall a full size version of Anakin's Pod Racer. So if you are in the Edinburgh area and want to see Yoda, a Jawa and a surprisingly large Ewok, go and have look.

The EH Club Roster on Battlestats
11:06 - RA Brucmack [bjmacken@engmail.uwaterloo.ca]
BSC cleaned out all players from club rosters that have been inactive for more than 90 days. This affects a large number of people that were on the EH roster :) So just a note, if you have been inactive on BSC for more than 90 days, you will have to sign up for the EH again. Your BSC profile will still exist, however.

Activity on BSC does not necessarily have to be participating in a game. You can also edit your profile information or post a message on one of the BSC message boards to reset the inactivity counter.

One more thing to note... Your player name on BSC should just be your callsign. Don't use your whole ID line, and don't put in the prefix EH_ yourself (BSC will do that for you). So, if EH_SomeGuy signs up, he'll use the name SomeGuy, not EH_SomeGuy or LT SomeGuy, etc, both of which I have seen :) You can always change that by logging in and editing your BSC profile.
