TC / ASF / Wing XIII News

1. All of you need to check if you're in the Wing XIII EGroup (The email adress for the group is: the_wolf_pack@yahoogroups.com and the URL: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_wolf_pack/).

2. Recruitment. The Wing Commander wants a balanced Wing for the upcoming ASF:SCIV. I'm doing my part by emailing some cadets...what are you doing ? ;)

3. LC Wes Janson [eh_janson@hotmail.com]: ASF:SC IV begins on the 1st of April! So help me god if we lose to the Aggressor and Avenger Squadron, there WILL be hell to pay! I need everyone we have at full efficiency, and ready to work their tails off. I will NOT be the first WC in Grey Wolf history to lose an SC and lose our Flagship title. Needless to say, I'll be working my tail off right alongside you all to ensure we win. Az, we'll need your help too. Tell your Squadrons, make sure they know. And let's take this thing by storm. :)

4. ASF:SC IV is begining on monday, what does that mean ? It means you really got to fly. The ISD Grey Wolf never lost this competition, this is why we are the ASF Flagship. Now, the other ISDs, and even the VSD Agressor are gonna take a shot at it...we can't seriously let them win...

New Scoring system for ASF:SC IV

IWATS = 15/course

As the COM said: "We are the champs........no we shall prove this AGAIN!!".

4. LC Wes Janson [eh_janson@hotmail.com]: Imperial Storm III is coming, so all of you XWA MP pilots (Us XvT pilots will have to stand and watch from the side lines again...) suit up and get ready for it.

AD Cyric is our Task Force Admiral, RA Azazel and LC Janson are Tacticians. Thats the entire ASF crew right now, so if anyone else has XWA and is willing to help out, mail Cyric and ask him for info. The IS page can be found at http://www.emperorshammer.net/wo/is3/index.html . The ASF is at quite a loss in terms of fire power, so we need everyone who can fly out there flying their hardest. We have to be fatser, smarter, and better than the TF's with 4 ISDs, the Sov group, and even the ATF (one SSD + 1 ISD).

5. RA Brucmack [bjmacken@engmail.uwaterloo.ca]: BSC cleaned out all players from club rosters that have been inactive for more than 90 days. This affects a large number of people that were on the EH roster :) So just a note, if you have been inactive on BSC for more than 90 days, you will have to sign up for the EH again. Your BSC profile will still exist, however.

Activity on BSC does not necessarily have to be participating in a game. You can also edit your profile information or post a message on one of the BSC message boards to reset the inactivity counter.

One more thing to note... Your player name on BSC should just be your callsign. Don't use your whole ID line, and don't put in the prefix EH_ yourself (BSC will do that for you). So, if EH_SomeGuy signs up, he'll use the name SomeGuy, not EH_SomeGuy or LT SomeGuy, etc, both of which I have seen :) You can always change that by logging in and editing your BSC profile.

Non-SW Funny Thought

No, Ottawa ain't the capital of Vermont...

I was watching Street Smarts on Fox last night and a funny thing happened. What is Street Smarts ? It's a TV show in which you have three "ponies", to whom you ask lots of questions. Some they will answer right, some they won't. You've got two contestant who will bet on who of the three "ponies" will get the right answers, and in some case, who will get the wrong answers.

At a point in the show, a question was asked that made me smile: "Ottawa is the capital of what country ?" Too easy I thought, but I was in for a surprise. The second contestant dunced the first contestant (meaning she had to answer the question herself, or else...). I thought this was a pretty silly move since you can only dunce one per round and this question seemed easy enough to me...again, I couldn't measure how wrong I was...

The first contestant answered: "Uh...I don't know...Texas ?"

Then they asked the second contestant if he knew the answer himself.

"Not a clue..."

Okay, that was funny enough, however I was feeling a bit insulted. Thinking Texas is a country ? Hrmm, someone need geography classes. Then they went to ask the matching "poney".

"Humm...I believe its Iowa."

Right. Three out of three. Last time I checked, Iowa was still an american state...unless they declared independance overnight, in which case, forgive MY ignorance. By that time, I was feeling really, really insulted and changed the channel, knowing that one of the two ignorant contestants would win the prize money at the end...

I certainly hope that at least one pilot in this squadron can answer this:

"Ottawa is the capital of what country ?"

Commander's Thoughts

Well, this is disappointing. I gave you all a fairly simple assignment; fly ONE battle, each of you. I got none. From now on, I'll apply the EH AWOL policy by the book. If you can't at least report to me, dishonorable discharge and AWOL. I will not tolerate inactivity. I wasn't asking for too much, not even an hour from your time, but most of you didn't bother. This will have to change right here and right now. If you can't carry out your orders, request for a transfer to the Reserve, otherwise I'll be forced to take actions, and neither me, nor the WC or the COM like to do so.

One a much brighter note, I'd like to welcome seasoned veteran, CPT Deamon to our squadron. He's an old timer, but I expect as much from him as I expect from all of you.

I'd like all of you to participate in the current squadron competitions, and fly for the ASF:SC IV. Now, if you submit a fiction for the Vortex Comp, it counts towards the ASF:SC IV, if you participate in the Vortex Flying Comp, it also counts towards the ASF:SC IV. My goal is to have each of you fly at least one battle a week, and fly in one online competition per week. Again, I'm not asking for too much, so let's make sure you meet at least these simple requirements.

I recently designed a squadron patch, for all squadron members to use on their flightsuits (whenever it comes out). Here it is:

If for some reason you can't see this picture...well you won't have any excuses because I attached it to the WSR :P

Pilot of the Week: CM TK-6686. Nice flying on the Zone mate. Keep up the good work !

Respectfully submitted,

CMDR-TCT-TCS/CM Ygor Mantis/Vortex/Wing XIII/ISD Grey Wolf
