SQUADRON NEWS

• Well June wasn't exactly the explosion of activity we hoped it would be.  I blame myself partially for not setting a good example and for not bugging you guys to do stuff.  I have fallen to the path of RL.  More on that in a bit.

• Promotions!!  Congratulations to Grimlock who was promoted to Captain, and to Draiff Stryker and Pi Stryker who were each promoted to Lieutenant Commander.  That's now four promotions for Hornet in June!  Great job everyone!

• Lieutenant Commander Pi Stryker has left us for the reserves due to RL issues.

• The Hornet competitions for June have ended.  The results are posted below.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MAJOR JER STRYKER
It is with deep regret that today I announce my resignation from command of Hornet Squadron, and request transfer to the reserves.  As some of you know, in real life I'm a pilot living in Indiana.  I've been working as a clerk at a local airline hoping they would start letting me fly jets soon, but they want me to get more flight time first.  I've been looking all over Indiana for some part-time flying work, but there's just not enough here for a pilot to do, and once autumn hits the flying weather goes away till spring.  My wife is a math teacher, so we can live pretty much anywhere in the U.S. and she'll find a job, provided we do it before school starts.  So we have decided to move.  Where, we're not exactly sure yet.  Florida, Arizona, California, Nevada, pretty much anyplace that doesn't have winter.  We have to pick a place soon though, and I have already quit my job so that we can spend all day every day searching this huge country by internet, telephone, or even automobile until we find something that suits us both.  This of course means that there is no time for the Tie Corps, and in fact Pi has already left us.  I'm really going to miss it here.  Hornet, I'm really proud of what all of you have done for the squadron.  It's really come a long way since I joined you from the Daedalus a year and a half ago.  Also to all the friends I've met in the Tie Corps, especially Drax, Jensen, Goad, Darksaber, and BubbaX, you're the kind of people who really make this place fun, and I'm going to miss you all.  I was hoping to write some sort of fiction to go along with this, as I used to do, but there is just no time.  I don't know when, or even if, I'll return.  I can't really see it happening any time in the next year at least, but you never know.  I think I'll miss this place too much to stay away forever.  Until then, however, farewell, and May the Force be with you....
