Roasty's troubles with his ISP are solved and he will be back in
command next week, so cheer up Kappans! :P
For myself, I must say I'm partially relieved but also partially sad
that it is already over :P
But I surely learned a lot and I want to say thanks to the Roastaman
for this chance. And now, enjoy (?) my second and last report. :)


Squadron News
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
- As already said in the introduction, Roasty is back online and back
on his char from now on. Welcome back! You will find that besides
the 3-meter-high statue of me directly in front of the CMDR's office
everything is exactly as when you left us. :P

- Still no news concerning the Kappa vs. Stalker comp due to the
simple fact that Stalker is CMDR-less at the moment. The status of
this comp is therefore still open. If you didn't fly TC 34 yet, do
so now and hope that the new Stalker CMDR will accept such late
submissions :P

- The Oktoberfest competition run by Roasty ends this week. Bug our
beloved CMDR for resluts :P

- W2PL week six is over, with seeing Roasty as the top scorer AGAIN!
(Heh, I could copy-paste this sentence directly from last report,
only changing the week :P). Second is me, third is Sigma's Roger
Duncan, fifth is Algaron. The fact that there are three Kappans
among last week's top five plus both Zyrax and me reaching the
semi-finals in the cup says enough.
Which doesn't mean I wouldn't comment it, of course :P
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO KAPPA!

- Round I of the Sov Mascot Power Battles is over. Results will be
given out by Ford "soon" (with a definition of "soon" still pending
:P). Round II is for XWA only, but of course that doesn't mean that
a TIE squad like us couldn't participate, you just need to have a
copy of XWA. See orders section for more.

- Tim is still Tim... The procedure of changing one's name in the TC
database seems to be more difficult than expected :P

- If you haven't read it yet, check out Algy's brilliant piece of
fiction he sent earlier this week (attached). It is the first
chapter of "Apocalypse Rising", the fictional biography of Algaron
Xerves in the Star Wars universe.

- The Wing II Pilot League season 2 goes into its seventh week! The
mission is TIE-Free 173 (attached) and the deadline is tomorrow,
sunday, Nov 11th.

- Play TIE-TC 34 (attached) for Kappa vs. Stalker if you haven't done
so yet.

- Jack's Ultimate Scramble continues!
However, if you didn't participate till now, you are already out,
and if you did, I think you know the rules for that comp, therefore
I won't repeat them cos I'm lazy! :P
No honestly if you forgot some details, you can look them up in the
last report. (Yes, they were actually in there, Jan! :P)

- The Sov Mascot Power Battles continue!
The second round of this top-priority competition is for XWA-flyers
among us, the assignment is XWA-IW battle #26. I think Ford didn't
tell us the deadline in his mail, but the comp schedule says that
you have two weeks for flying this battle.

- EH vs. UPA: Results!
The competition ended earlier today, and overall I am happy with the
outcome, despite the fact that we came up a bit short of winning it.
Well fought though!

Here is a breakdown of how we did overall:

X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter
Game W/L: 43/50 (0.86)
Player W/L: 111/126 (0.88)

X-Wing Alliance
Game W/L: 2/3 (0.67)
Player W/L: 2/3 (0.67)

As you can see, we were close but slightly overmatched. However,
there were 20 pilots participating over both platforms, with a
higher number of games than we've had in most Weeks of War. I hope
this trend will continue!

Our most active and winningest pilot through this war was CM Sharp
(A.K.A. Darkmage), who played 17 games and won 11 of them. Great
work!

The most active group was Wing XIII with 34 games, and the most
deadly group was Tau Squadron with a win/loss ratio of 2.33. Well
done to both these groups and all others who participated as well!

Now, there is a week's rest before the next XvT Week of War
begins... I hope to see everyone out for it too! There will be no
complaining about lack of opponents then, either :)

- AusComp Canceled
AusComp has been cancelled due to a severe storm warning that was
reported to be hanging around my area tonight. Both CPT Carren and
myself live in the same area and so there is no host for it.

I apologise for any inconvenience.

- COO promoted
GA Ronin and myself would like to extend our congratulations to
Combat Operations Officer Brucmack for his excellent performance and
being promoted to Vice Admiral! Now go embarrass him on the message
board. :P

- ATF BGCOM resigns
Vice Admiral Firefox, Battlegroup Commander of the Avenger Task
Force, has resigned from his position to become the new Grand Master
of the Dark Brotherhood. We wish him luck in his new position!

- Wing VI WC Steps Down
Lieutenant Colonel Jesseb has announced his decision to step down as
Wing Commander for Wing VI, and take up a FM's position in Zeta.
This means that the position is now vacant and Rear Admiral Proton
is now accepting applications for a new WC. He requests that all
applicants should have a sense of fair play, a good work ethic and a
creative streak that will lead to constant activity and fun
throughout the Wing.
All applications should be sent to the SovCOM without delay.
