Weekly Squadron Report #13
by CPT Tomaas Banys

ASCII EDITION ==== RELEASE 1.02 ==== Friday, November 16, 2001

Hello and welcome to the next Tartarus Squadron report! Another week passed and we saw some activity, mostly boring combat patrols :P but we also had one or two good fights. I also talked to a bunch of officers and I have quite a mess in my head after gathering all the information! But I expect a few big changes soon. I wonder if you feel the same.
Let's get on to the report.

SQUADRON ISSUES

SQUADRON & WING REBUILDING. I might sound boring, but we really need good, active pilots. Jatz is balancing very close to being AWOLed, which is definitely not in his style. Also, we really need to be at 10 pilots minimum! If you expect somebody in your workplace, uni, school, lab (etc.) could be a good addition to our squadron or our wing in general, why don't you talk to that person? We need pilots almost desperately.

HOLONET NEWS UPDATE

1. ISD Vanguard has been left without its commodore. RA ZippyHawk had to step down. I've seen quite a lot people interested in this position so if you want to have good chances, apply now. WC-level experience needed though CMDR-level experience is also considered a good thing.
2. Avenger Task Force has a new leader. The new BGCOM is VA Jeff Loruss. Congratulations.
3. Wing VI has a new leader too. The new WC is LC Alyius Khan. Congratulations.
4. Valkyrie Squadron without any command. CPT Hev Randrowan stepped down and transfered to a FL spot in new Crusader Sq. RL problems were the reason again. Again, if you're up to, apply quickly. I can tell you that I am 95% sure who will get it.
5. Vortex Squadron top in XVT Ladder - thanks to LCM BlackHero and CPT Khameir Sarin!
6. CM Khameir Sarin promoted to CPT! BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!
7. LCM Brian promoted to CM. Grats.
8. Astatine-class A/TUG released. It features new engines, shields and a comfy chair! Should we switch Flight II to those? :P Try to test it. Patches available from Science Office.
9. There will be a chat at www.lucasarts.com/chat/ with JK2:Outcast programmers and producers! Stay tuned.
10. Crusaders have their own commander at last! It is CM Rekio Corsair. Congratulations and good luck in leading my former squadron, Rekio :P

LITERATURE CORNER

Another part of TIE Interceptor: Deadly Waltz. I finally found the missing file and so I was able to add a few new lines. I believe you haven't read it yet, so enjoy.

TIE Interceptor: Deadly Waltz
PART: VI (Chapter 3: Undercover)
by CPT Tomaas Banys & CPT Christina Vidrascu

Chrissy felt that the whole world was falling apart, yet she found the strength to help Vulcan get up. "Please calm down Vulc and tell me what this is all about. And please start with the beginning."
Vulcan told her about the strange meeting he had with Tom, hoping she'll tell him that it actually didn't happen and it all was just a nightmare. She stood up and looked him in the eyes.
"Tom is not dead, i can feel it, but he's in big danger! It's up to us and of course very much up to him to bring him back among us. But first of all we have to get him out of there and very fast. Before it really gets too late."
Vulcan was staring at her. She sounded very confident in what she said, even though he didn't understand a word. He wanted to say something when she turned around and said "Get the squadron ready imediatelly, we're getting Tom out of there!"
"Right away captain! was all that Vulc was able to say as he ran out the door to gather the pilots.

When he was about to drop the blade onto the pilot, White saw the monitors go crazy. The pilot wanted to live. "So, you actually are somebody, you won't allow me to split you into pieces? Oh, well, it's just misfortune I guess."
Medical staff approached the jedi. "Should we try to save him, master White? We can't let him suffer, kill him or allow us to operate. You feel it's right."
Just the same second, Tomaas slid his eyes open. Life functions were going back to normal and he coughed, sucking the fresh air into his lungs. He was back. The jedi raised his eyebrow and approached to bed.
"How are you feeling, pilot?"
Surprisingly, the pilot smiled. "Way better than you, excuse for a jedi!" He closed his eyes for a moment. "I've heard of you, murderer!!!"
Jeremy White frowned. "Oh? You must've been mistaken." He smiled wildly. "I just kill imperials and that's a right thing to do. And I torture them because it's the best way to get information and end this foolish conflict."
Tomaas smiled again. "Your barbaric methods can't do well with our officers. The Hammer is not like anything you fought with before, jedi." He was about to add some extra words, but he suddenly the door open.
Four NRAF marines were escorting a prisoner. They nearly kicked him in. The man wore rags which were a duty uniform not so long ago. The man's face seemed familiar. Tomaas couldn't remember who he was, but all became clear when the man was taken next to the jedi. He had the EH patch on his sleeve - and wore a rank badge Tomaas only knew from the manuals. Sector Admiral.
The prisoner's eyes widened as he saw White. Then, he saw Wolfmaster and nodded. Tomaas attempted to salute, however one of the marines punched him in his face in the same moment.

Art saluted the guard and entered the briefing room. MC-80b Paladin was preparing for a special assignment and Art, as a newly promoted squadron commander, wanted to make the briefing as perfect as it could be. That is why he arrived into the briefing room much earlier.
He looked at the ionized gases through a durasteel window. The gases, lightened up by a magnetical storm, were absolutely amazing. Mostly Argon and Carbon Dioxide, the gas clouds flashed with blue and green sparks. The gases had a very important role in the system. Jamming any sensors, their presence allowed the Paladin to remain hidden deep within the Hammer territory. They just got here and Art would like to stay here for a while longer.
He heard footsteps and turned around, seeing White. "Hey bastard, wazzup?"
"Good news. Our recon patrol caught a shuttle with only one flight escorting. And we have a prisoner."
Art laughed. "That's fantastic! Any idea who is he and what was he doing here?"
White sat on one of the benches. "We believe it is a Sector Admiral, probably the XO of the Hammer. Kawolski." He watched Art's face. "He'll be undergoing interrogation as we speak. Though he will be fed first."
Art laughed again. "Fed? What for?"
"You wouldn't understand if I hadn't told you. Drugs, Art. Let the chemical do the interrogation. Those command officers are very vulnerable for drugs." He laughed, louder and louder, his words echoing down the corridor.

"Will you eat something admiral?" The man's voice changed. He was a simple reservist, low-ranked officer and he didn't feel comfortable talking to an enemy VIP. Especially to an enemy admiral who was suspected to be so important. He handed the spoon the and plate to the imperial.
As he watched the first spoon dissapear into the admiral's mouth, the man began relaxing. He'll be okay. He won't try anything. the man thought and looked on the ceiling. When he looked at the admiral again, he saw the spoon accelerating straight into his eye. The admiral quickly drove in the spoon into the man's head, going through the eye and eventually the brain.
"My compliments to the chef." Kawolski said as he searched the body. He found a small blaster which he hid under his tunic. "But you should've at least handcuffed me, brother." He ran out of the room and directed towards the medical bay. The officer there just had to be saved. Kawolski never left anyone behind. As soon as he got into the med, he saw that the officer is fighting the guard. The admiral smiled, but he simply got out the blaster and shot the guard. Seeing the officer approach him, he saluted briefly and ran out. He noticed the man getting the guard's blaster and following him. Must get to the hangar and get some A-Wings to run with. the admiral thought. As soon as they were about to reach the hangar, both men saw a group of EH pilots kneeling with their hands on their heads and a few NRAF marines guarding them. Kawolski nodded and turned to the officer. "You take the two on the left, I'll deal with the other five!"
"Yes, sir." the man replied and checked his blaster. He aimed it at the first guard to get a steady shot. They weren't spotted yet and they had enough time. The admiral did the same.

POETRY CORNER

The Warriors by CPT Tomaas Banys

Always when the summer shades away, our enemies come.
The order was issued. Our warriors will fight for our motherland.
The blue moons of empty spaces come and swift retribution awaits many youth.
Women, cry not! It doesn't matter...

SQUADRON ACTIVITY

Activity is getting much more balanced - instead of having 2 or 3 active pilots, we have 7 active ones. However, this week wasn't that impressive because everybody had some problems and everything turned out to be at about 70% planned. This means we need about 150% normal activity next week, ladies and gentlemen. FLY.
