Well, here it is. Your Mantis Squadron Weekly Status Report, delivered right to your holomail account! This week has bee AMAZING. That is the only word for it. While I already knew that you guys were the best, you sure are showing it. Mantis is coming into it's time, and we're providing the 'right stuff' to show that we got what it takes!
Be warned, however, that rough roads are ahead...we may be the front line now, but next week is gonna get tough...rumors of a counter-attack against our fortified position are circulating, and we're going to have to be even tougher next week than we were this week...I'll explain more later. Anyway, here it is:

The Top Dog contest is finishing up it's second week. We're like 135 points ahead of Scorpion (the score as of this morning was like 405 Mantis to 268 Scorpion), so let's keep it that way. 3 of the 6 people on the TOP DOG list are Mantis guys, so let's keep rolling! Scorpion is planning a counter-attack next week, so be careful. We need ALOT of participation from EVERY MANTIS MEMBER. This competition is a deciding factor, guys. This one will show who is serious about this Squadron and who is just along for the ride. Every little bit helps. DO IWATS COURSES!!! They are like 15 points a piece!!!
I am near the end of what I can submit...I already have 16 IWATS courses done, and all of the XwA battles...I'm writing fiction out my butt, and attending comps. We need you junior guys to start pumping out battles and IWATS, and the senior guys...well, attending some comps and getting us some LoCs would be nice too =o)
I am very serious about this one here, gentlemen. This competition can put Mantis on the Map. Everyone is looking at us to unseat Scorpion, who has held the 'awesome squadron of the Vanguard' title for way too long. Let's show these crusty old commanders that the new guys can do it too!!! GO MANTIS!

Ok, here we go...
1) We have a Weekly Trivia Competition in effect. Everyone in the Squadron is invited to join, and we would appreciate it if everyone signs up...the prizes for the First Place winner are: (1) IS: BR, and a $10 gift certificate for Amazon.com.
2) Every Wednesday night there is an ASF MP Competition, held in IRC channel #EHCOC. So far, the only Mantis guys who have been showing up are myself, Lt. Remlinger, and our ace Lt. Broskopf...it's a good night to play guys...alot of newer people playing...
3) We have a Mantis Run-On now on the Messageboard. Stop by and check it out! When we finish it, we'll post it to the EH Newsletter as a squadron project!
4) We are up to 22 Citations from the 14 we had when I took over last week. That's great! Keep pumping out those battles!
5) Mantis Message Board. It's getting used ALOT now, and I"m proud of all of you! Let's keep that thing active. Remember: 250 posts gets you a Medal.
6) We are running a competition until the 21st of November for top scorer of the XWA-FCHG #1 Battle. So far, CM Lazzak is in the lead with over 25,000 points. For those of you who don't have the time to do Multiplayer combat, this is a competition you can win. Not only can you get an Iron Star with Bronze Wings out of it, you get the unit a Citation, you get yourself some FCHG points (6), you get some TOP DOG points, and you help your team mates.
7) Training Nights. Lt. Remlinger and I have been getting together a few nights weekly and flying against each other, and as wingmen for each other against the computer. This is a GREAT way to build up your skills, as is demonstrated by me being able to finally beat someone...hehe. We're not only flying T/I's, either...last night we flew against each other in our assigned craft (our crusty old SUPA fighters)...that was quite a time! Anyone interested is welcome to email us to setup a time.
8) Mailing List. I have set up a Mantis Only email list. This will give us the opportunity to do some 'strategic planning' as well as simplify the process of getting out such things as notices, WSRs, inter-squadron challenges, and other information. Feel free to post whatever you like in there, its your list!
9) MiB. The Mantis Interactive Battle has stalled. Lt. Broskopf has some experience with mission creation, and has just registered a copy of Allied. Hopefully, we can now begin working on this again!
10) Recruiting. We have some open slots, and there are ALOT of new recruits coming into Daedalus. Lets see if we can get a few of them and fill our roster! And remember, our duty to recruiting doesn't end with Mantis...after we're full, it would be good to help fill up the rest of the Wing :o)
11) Good work! I am happy to say that we have had a RECORD week for activity! Keep up the good work guys!
12) PILOT OF THE WEEK. While this is a hard thing to do, since you are all great guys, the pilot who has really shined this week is Lt. Remlinger. It was a tough decision between him and Lt. Broskopf, because they have both been so darn active. Good job, Lt. Remlinger. You win a weekend pass =o)
FINAL NOTES: I have submitted a request to shift the flights around a little bit to better accomodate our small numbers. Please check with me if you are confused about where you are supposed to be. Also, we need more participation in the Trivia Competition. Please look into that. If you do not like your Flight's Motto or nickname, email your Flight Leader. If the entire Flight decides on something else, I'll submit the change for ya. If you want to make a Flight Webpage, let me know. Lt. Remlinger and I are already working on one for I Flight.
