Tornado Weekly Report #1

Introduction

LT Rollins boarded the ISD Challenge after having a very enjoyable leave on planet Nergea. It is renown in the Independent Colonies for its casinos, bars and surprising lack of "undesirables" such as gangsters and smugglers. Of course he hadn't won a penny once he got there but still found it to be a very enjoyable experience. Rollins felt sad that his leave had to end as he stepped off his passenger shuttle and onto the hanger bay of the Challenge. Following him off the craft were several other officers but Rollins didn't really know any of them, as he was a relatively new pilot on the Challenge.

Once Rollins got to his quarters he checked his messages on the ships' computer. A screen on the wall by a bed blinked "1 new message" and he tapped on the text for the message to display. "To All Tornado Squadron Pilots: Please attend briefing at 22:00." Rollins frowned at this. He expected to get at least one night of rest before he had any work to do.

"Probably bad news," Rollins thought to himself, "I can't remember ever having a briefing that had anything else in it. It's not like I'm going to get a surprise promotion or anything like that." Rollins crossed his fingers hoping that it wouldn't be anything like intensive training or CPT Werdna Elbee becoming his Commander again. Or worse, both!

New Tornado CMDR

CPT Werdna Elbee has been promoted to Commander of Tornado Squadron. Please attend the good Captain's 10 hour briefing session about this change at 22:00. Muhahahaha!!!

Competition: Internal Review

Please fly TIE-FCHG #1 before Wednesday 9th January (the mission is attached). The overall Top Gun will receive an IS-BW. Anyone not participating will be under my constant scrutiny until you start taking part in stuff or I kick you out.

New Squadron Website

You will be able to find a new squadron website at http://www27.brinkster.com/tornadosquadron/. It's still a little rough around the edges, and there are still a couple of things need implementing, but it does the job.

ISD Challenge Leave Ends 1st January

I expect everyone to be full active again at this date. We already have a competition on now, so if I'm not getting any pilot files after the 1st expect to find lots of reminders in your inbox.

Dark Lord of the Week

This award goes to TopDawg for not knowing who I am, and announcing that fact when I got the CMDR job. It takes balls to say something like that to a new boss.

Muppet of the Week

This week's muppet is Quake for planning a departure from Tornado. Wor 'ikkle Kweeky doesn't have the time to fly so he will be going on ventures new in the Internet Office. Oh well, I don't mind as long as he promises to stay in Tornado as long as he can.

EH Anniversary Awards

That's right folks, the time is upon us once more! The EH Anniversary is around the corner, and as usual, it will be marked with Commendations of Loyalty being awarded to the...uh, most loyal people in the EH. All the details on how the recommendations will be handled are in the latest OPS report. Remember, the CoL can be awarded more than once to the same person.

Orders

• Fly TIE-FCHG #1 before 13th January
• Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there are also #isdchallenge and #tornado to drop into. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me.
• Post on the Message Boards more often. Pay particular attention to the Tornado MB! There are loads of the things at http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/ and http://mb.ehnet.org/
• Recruit!!!
• Give me some BSFs to do. WE still only have 2 citations and I really want to see that shoot up.
