Introduction

Abandoned! That's what the Krath witch did to us! Now we fly with no one to guide us! Oh why, Mai…WHY?!?!

Life must go on however. While activity has generally been slow, over the past week Tornado have recruited a new pilot and eventually found out the results to ECR round 4. Activity probably won't be improving over the course of this week due to the entire ISD Challenge going on leave, but there are still plenty of opportunities of a pilot to be incredibly active.

Main order for this week: Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
(or whatever holiday you celebrate. Don't bug me about that. I'm an atheist and no one ever tells me to have a nice cynical winter break)

Squadron News

Mairin Promoted To WC
Congratulations to our ex-CMDR COL Mairin Astoris who has been promoted to Wing Commander of Wing X. Not only did her qualities as our leader and friend inspire us to be all we can be, but they looked good on her job application too. I'm sure Mai is deeply sad to leave us for a shiny new office and huge living quarters (with her own bathroom, coz we all know how much she likes to jump in it 5 times a day). We wish you all the best and hope you interfere with the running of our squadron regularly.

New Pilot
Please may everyone welcome LT Joe Perry to Tornado Squadron. He has joined us in position 3-2 and I'm sure he will be a great addition to the squadron. (psst...Joe...that's your cue to fly a couple of battles to show how good you are).

Ship Closes For Christmas
With so many members of Wing X going on leave it has been decided to put the whole ship on leave until January 1st. You will not be expected to be active this week because of the holidays. However, if you still wish to remain active remember that there are still many things that you can still do in the TC. There are IWATS courses, many forms of communication, a newsletter to make fiction and graphics for, and you can always fly more missions.

BSFs On Hold For Tornado Pilots
Since both the COM and WC are going to be away, and the current lack of a Tornado CMDR, BSFs won't be done until 1st January. Please continue flying if you wish, but try to store them up until BSFs can be done again. You can also mail them to me so I can put them into your activity record (I'll rant about the records later).

Dark Lord of the Week
This of course goes to our MaiMai for getting promoted to WC. Extra brownie points awarded for going on leave almost as soon as she got the job. I suppose that's one way to ease into it.

• FLY DAMNIT! That's your job! And remember to save your pilot files until Mai is back from her leave (or a new CMDR is selected).
• Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there are also #isd_challenge and #tornado to drop into. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me.
• Post on the Message Boards more often. Pay particular attention to the Tornado MB! There are loads of the things at http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/ and http://mb.ehnet.org/
• Recruit!!!

Activity Reports

Since I don't have all the details of what everyone has been up to (but a very good idea of has and hasn't been active) I won't be doing an activity report for this week. In a nutshell, while everyone has been communicating a lot this week it's only been Rollins and myself who have had any BSFs done. If you are going to be active at all this week then you should consider bulking up your activity record for next week's report and the MSE in the new year.
