Wing News Firstly I'd like to bring a competition to your attention, it was annouced, two seconds ago? yep two seconds. You should have it in your Inbox's now. The competition is entitled, "The Caption Competition", it involves you people looking at the picture here, and then making up a funny snappy caption for it. More details can be found in LC Drake's original email, [ISD Colossus] Caption Competition sent out on 04/01/02. Squadron News Well this is my first report to you all since taking over command of Mu, so hi. As i said in an email i sent out awhile ago now, I am Commander Kalve Ryder, your new CMDR. It looks like there's some work to be done making this squadron more active, and Im going to need your help in this. Fly 200 missions in one month. This challenge was set by our very own Wing Commander, thanks Drake. To prove Mu is an active squadron we must fly 200 missions in the Month of January. Now this isn't hard, but we've had a great drop in numbers recently so it will be difficult. Between the 4 active pilots we have left, thats 50 missions each in a month. To give you some idea of what that means, its like 10 battles containing 5 missions each, in a month. Honestly I think we can do this. Pilot Losses Well, this week we lost LCM Bigron, back from leave after the Christmas holidays, to the Reserves. He's facing difficult RL issuses and we hope to see him back someday. We also lost LT Dirgo, as his email account has become inactive he is now MIA, and Inactive. On a less critical note, CM Dave Darklighter is on leave till the 12th. And will return after this time, and we will 'expect some MAJOR flying from' him when he returns ;) . Promotion!!! If you where paying attention, you may have noticed something above in Pilot Losses, yep. Dave Darklighter has been promoted to Commander! Congratz. He'll be buying the drink when he gets back off of leave. New Flight Leader! Congratulations to LT Gravin, on becoming Mu's second flight leader. He's a great pilot, old and wise with experience even though his rank would suggest otherwise. We're expecting great things from you LT Gravin. General Evaluation Honestly not such a bad week, we lost some dead and not so dead weight. But in the long term I guess it will most likely be for the best. From what I can tell we're even close to competing with Eta Squadron this month with the amount of missions flown, but thats not because we've improved much. We need to get better. So fly everything you can, even if you dont have the time to fly an entire battle, fly a free mission or too. And if you dont always have the capabilities to download missions and battles to fly. Download some in advance and store them on your PC till you can fly them. My own personal objective this month is to try and recruit a few new pilots to our cause, and if anyone thinks they can help, then do so. But take into consideration the EH laws on recruiting. No spamming the recruitment message board, and only CMDRs and above are allowed to send out mail to cadets reffering them to join your squadron, but you may offer them assistance.
