Tornado Weekly Report #2

Introduction
I don't really have much time to do a long introduction coz I'm leaving for Uni soon. I'm squeezing this report in between packing my bags and jumping in the car. Still, I'll be around and normal service will resume on Wednesday. So get in your pilot files for the competition, and maybe a few others just because flying TIE is fun!

Over the next few days I will be away at University witout my computer. Luckily they have computers that I can use, but expect a few delays with getting BSFs done and little flying from me until Wednesday. I still want you to send in your pilot files as soon as possible for...
Competition: Internal Review
Please fly TIE-FCHG #1 before Wednesday 9th January (the battle is attached). The overall Top Gun will receive an IS-BW. Anyone not participating will be under my constant scrutiny until you start taking part in stuff or I kick you out.
Upcoming Competitions
Keep an eye on your Inboxes around Wednesday for details on a graphics competition. As well as a medal being on offer, the graphics will also be sent into the EH newsletter so everyone can see how active we are. There is also a flying competition on the cards in a weeks time against an IW squadron, so keep your eyes peeled for that too. It's going to be a busy month!

Darklord gets the award coz it was his birthday on Thursday and I didn't get him anything. I hope this will do :o)

Unknown Commands on IRC

We have been seeing a lot
of people using unknown commands and scripts on IRC channels recently, some of
which can be malicious to your IRC Client. These scripts work primarily on human
operators running the scripts out of curiosity and infect the victims IRC
Client. I would like to advise all members of the Emperor's Hammer that it is
usually a very bad idea to run any script you do not know exactly what it does
from the code as it can do damage to your client and also if malicious may well
earn you a ban and HCI trial.
Reminder about mission skipping
- FA Striker
Skipping a mission
is only tolerated in case of a fatal bug, which is extremely rare these days. If
the procedure stated in the cheating policy is not followed, the BSF is simply
cancelled without any notification (because the database doesn't support it
yet). Actually, skipping a mission for any reason may be forbidden in a near
future, if people keep ignoring the procedures.
Orders
- Fly TIE-FCHG #1 before 13th January
- Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there are also #isdchallenge and #tornado to drop into. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me.
- Post on the Message Boards more often. Pay particular attention to the Tornado MB! There are loads of the things at http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/ and http://mb.ehnet.org/
- Recruit!!!
- Give me some BSFs to do. We still only have 2 citations and I really want to see that shoot up.
