Wing VIII Caption Comp has started, you should all have the pic in you email. Deadline is the 14th.

Eta win Squadron of the Month for the second month running.... However, we're lagging behind a bit from the rest of the squads. So I need to see more TFR's in my inbox or we'll not get very far this month.

Anyone who hasn't flown battle 23,27 and 29 should try these first. then we will have the first 30 battles.

COMMANDER'S CORNER

Things have dropped off, hopefully not for long. I do realise that it's only 5 days into the month, but I thought people might show some more enthusiasm for the next SoM.

We're only 40 missions away from 1000 since Drake became WC and yet no one is attempting to push for it. As it is Omi are pulling out a lead over us and the other squads are starting to take advantage too, and I really don't want to rely on another 300+ week to save us.

On that note, we're in need of fresh blood. Wap is still on his leave and Phalk has now joined him until the 14th. This leaves 4 of us still flying for the moment, and that means about 125 missions each over the rest of the month just to match December.

If you've friends with TIE, get them to join. If you bump into or talk to cadets, tell them how great we are (No blatant recruiting!), post on recruitment boards, try whatever you can. I don't want Eta to drop into obscurity, especially with a new wing comp on the way.

OFFICIAL STANDING ORDERS

Anyone not following these is subject to being removed.

1. I expect all FMs to contact their Flight Leaders at least once a week, either by email, ICQ or IRC etc.

2. I expect everyone to participate in all competitions, except when there is a clash with important RL events, i.e. exams, illness etc
3. I want everyone to fly at least one battle or two free missions a week, alternatively you can create graphics, write fiction or create missions as long as the effort is the same as flying a battle or mission. Competition TFRs count as double, so you only need to fly one free mission if it's for a comp.

4. Flight Leaders - You will report to me at the end of each week detailing which of members of their flight have or haven't reported in and what they've done during the past week. Also, you will pass on to me any TFRs, fiction, graphics etc. you receive from your pilots.

5. Flight leaders - You are expected to be an example to your flight members and should typify what they are trying to become. I expect regular contact from you and input into how the squadron should be run and any changes that could be made for the better.

It doesn't take long to fly 2 free missions, you can even do it on easy if you must, you only need to fly on hard when it's a comp and scores are important.
