Hammer Report # 28 (2002-01-09)

This report was submitted by CPT Jaruus

1/7/2002

LCM Neko calls the squadron into the briefing room for a
meeting. CPT Jaruus steps up to the podium and prepares to
deliver his state of the squadron speech.

"Lady and Gentlemen, I hope you are all relaxed and rested from
your winter vacations. I trust we all enjoyed ourselves. I
know the Star Drifter for one will be happy to see all of you
back onboard. With the new year upon us, I want all of us to
look forward to the bright future of Hammer Squadron and
Fighting Ninth in general. After nearly two months absentee
commanders, our ranks have been relatively stable since I took
command. Our dead weight has been cut and we under-gone enough
intrawing training for me to proudly state that we are now a
well oiled and efficient fighting machine.

We have once again maintained a stranglehold on the WCO for the
second month in a row. We have, in large part, Shae, Tycho, and
Neko to thank for this accomplish. Their consistant dedication
to hitting the cockpit and finishing battles is truly inspiring.

I am also pleased to state that Hammer has within its ranks the
current Top Gun for the entire wing, LCM Dupuy. Stand up and be
acknowledged for some top notch flying!

We also have been graced with the return of Steve Sunrider to
our family. Sunny brings with him a battle scarred and well
horned veteran instinct in both single and multiplayer
skirmishes. However, on the flip side, I have had the
unfortunate duty of sending two of our very own to the great
reserve in the sky due to inactivity. One, SL Jericho, you
already know about. The other, I am sad to announce, is LT
Andrew, whose inactivity has warranted a transfer to reserves.
I hope to see Andrew return to active duty someday, but till
then, let it be known that Hammer will miss his presence and he
may always return here if he wishes.

Finally, I want to prepare us for the year ahead. It promises
to be extraordinary with many competitions lined up and much
debauchery to be had amongst all our pilots. For the year to be
a success Hammer needs to see all of its pilots active in some
realm of the EH. We are almost exclusively top pilots and with
that in mind, I plan on initiated challenges and perhaps a small
tournement with outside squadrons of the course of the next few
months. Furthermore, I expect my pilots to participate in the
now underway Prelude to Andevia. The have multiple ways of
playing, MP ladders, single player flying, fiction, mission
design, etc. Everyone look for an area they are interested in
and join in!

Your current orders are this: Check in with me immeaditely and
let me know what you want out of Hammer Squadron this year.

That is all pilots, we have come a long way in the past few
months and I want to say that I am proud of all of you for the
effort you have put in to make this squadron one of the best in
the EH. Thank you.

Fleet News:

-Prelude to Andevia competition has commenced!! Visit the
website for more information.

Squadron News:

-LCM Dupuy wins the Hammer TG for December!!
Yes, to the surprise of everyone, including myself, I received
enough subs for the TG to allow the results to stand. I am also
proud to say that Dupuy is in a zone this month. He not only
achieved the highest Hammer score, he also beat the overall
record for Battle #77 - Verpine Encounter Part One.
Congratulations!!

Results-
Pilot score Average per pilot:
Dupuy 414,012 349,646
Neko 336,982 percent participating:
Shae 324,431 4/7 57.1%
Jaruus 323,157
Total 1,398,582

-I need ideas for a new squadron nickname. As Shae pointed out
to me, our previous name came from the transfer of Iota pilots
to Hammer when their squadron closed. Now that Iota has
returned, let them keep their own nickname. I want us to start
off the year with a new identity so sned any thoughts you have
to me.
