Sword Squadron Report #4 - Submitted by Captain Nav'ric Trow

My first month over and done with, time goes fast, doesn't it?

Squadron News:

Our competition with Panther Squadron of the Infiltrator Wing has finished and believe me... it was incredibly close!

The final scores, averages....

Panther Squadron - 58 516
Sword Squadron - 57 842

We lost by under 1K points, 674 points to be exact. Thankyou to all the pilots that took part in this competition, and well done for such a great performance. Those who didn't, hope you'll able to get things sorted and ready for our next competition. I am going to try to arrange a rematch between us and Panther again in the near future, hopefully we can pull back those 674 points and get the victory. Then, once we've got all of our flying arrangements sorted and that rematch over and done with, we'll start taking on squadrons from the Colossus, Challange and Immortal... maybe even the Sovereign, ASF and ATF.

There has recently been the idea of a Sword Counter-Strike get together being thrown about. To be honest, the idea of a little bit of non-EH related gaming within the squadron sounds fun. I'm hoping to get a team together so we can challenge some clans and spend some time on server, this is with the help on CPT Taf'ron Daro of the Reserves. If you've got Counter-Strike, get in contact with myself at EHTrow@aol.com. Of course, if any member of Wing IX/ISD Relentless is interested in participating, contact me aswell because after talking it over with LC Krax, there has also been the possible mention of WCO points being gained.

Lieutenant Colonel Ted has recently been working hard on the new Sword Squadron website. This'll be the heart of the SwordNET. Remember, current parts of the SwordNET include the message board (http://pub43.ezboard.com/bswordnet) and the mailing list (swordsqn@yahoogroups.com). When the website is up, we'll extend it even further with a recruiting center and technicial center. Any suggestions can be sent to myself, LT Falcon or LC Ted.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Although the SwordNET is growing, please don't forget about the Wing IX/ISD Relentless message board on TIECorps.org - This is the home of the Wing, so check both SwordNET and there.

Ideas for activity... that is a topic recently opened on the SwordNET Board. One idea has catched my attention the most. Lieutenant Colonel Ted suggested to reopen the Citation Runs, an idea he tried to implement when he was Sword CMDR and one which has great potential... Thanks Ted! Captain Vector has volunteered to write up the list of battles people need to fly in order for Sword to gain more citations. Thanks Vector and I look forward to seeing your work! Once Vector has finished that, the Citation Run will become an official Sword Operation, taking part ever two-weeks for the time being so it doesn't become a demanding weekly thing. i'll keep you posted through the SwordNET.

Also on the books, is the soon to return Sword Top Gun. This use to spark some competitive flying spirit in the squadron under Ted, especially between CPT Jaruus and COL Doyon. If you know of a good TIE-FREE that we could fly for the competition, then get in contact with me so I can check it over and see if I think it's suitable.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: All members of Sword Squadron should be following the Standing Orders listed lower down in this report. It doesn't take more than 5 minutes to send an email to your Flight Leader (Or in the case of FL's, to me) stating what you've been up to all week (and what your FM's have been doing, FL's). Please, it's important that you keep in contact so we know you're doing alright and so that you know what's happening (Competition wise, etc).

LT Jade Falcon is on leave until Thursday 14th December, skiing. Flight Two should be contacting me this week, CCing Falcon.

Monthly Squadron Evaluation awards should be issued soon, people. Keep an eye out for some incoming metal. :P
