Sword Squadron Report #5 - Submitted by Captain Nav'ric Trow

Well, the squadron has a rest this week but the news certainly didn't.

Squadron News:

The first major news to hit the squadron was the threatened closure of the ISD Relentless due to a lack of membership. We've been given a month to punch our numbers up to a minimum of 30 or the Fighting Ninth will be forced to find a new home. So the aim of each member of Wing IX is to do their part and recruit. One this note, i'd like to welcome Commander Xanthos Dei to the squadron. He is a good friend of Falcon and is already showing the signs of being an important addition to the squadron... Welcome aboard, Xan.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: With already 4 members either transfered or transfering into Wing IX, things are looking good for the wing. Keep it people and keeping pushing, the more people we can get, the better for the wing as a whole.

Although this week hasn't been a completely goodone, we are still pushing ahead with the SwordCOMP Calendar. The Second Competition on the Calendar is the 'Training Session' with Spear Squadron. Details have bee released to you, if you haven't received them, drop me an email and i'll FWD them to you. You have until Friday 22nd February to fly TIE-FREE 105 and submit it's TFR along with the breakdown to me at EHTrow@aol.com (Submissions should be in my inbox by midnight GMT on that Friday).

Also, congratulations to two people of Sword Squadron who have received Imperial Security Medals for their efforts during January. They are Colonel Doyon and Lieutenant Jade Falcon. Well done you two and keep it up.

Lieutenant Colonel Ted continues his work on the Sword Squadron Website. He has told me that the majority is done, and from what he's told me, it's sounding a very impressive piece of work. Thanks Tedster!

Current SwordNET centers:
Message Board (http://pub43.ezboard.com/bswordnet)
Mailing List (swordsqn@yahoogroups.com)

Captain Vector has continued his work on sorting out the list ready for the start of the Citation Runs. I'd like to thank Vector for his efforts. As soon as Vector finishes this list and the Training Session is over and done with, then the first Citation Run will begin. Again, keep updated through the SwordNET.

If anyone knows of any squadron that Sword should challenge, drop me and email with a quick explanation why. I am looking out for a decent squadron to fly against, so if any of you want to help me here it would be appreciated. Thanks

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Continued from last weeks WSR - All members of Sword Squadron should be following the Standing Orders listed lower down in this report. It doesn't take more than 5 minutes to send an email to your Flight Leader (Or in the case of FL's, to me) stating what you've been up to all week (and what your FM's have been doing, FL's). Please, it's important that you keep in contact so we know you're doing alright and so that you know what's happening (Competition wise, etc).

LT Jade Falcon has returned from leave, Flight two should be contacting him again.

Competitions:

SwordCOMP - 'Training Session':

Fly TIE-FREE 105 before Midnight on Friday 22nd (GMT) and get it submitted to me! Try to include a mission breakdown as well so we can accumilate a few bonus marks!

Well gentlemen, this week has seen many interesting happenings, and we have
our work cut out for us if we wish to stay alive. We're fighting for our
lives here, come on guys, show some spirit!

On a positive note, I see that we have a new pilot this week, which is most
definitely a good thing. Thanks for joining us , we thank you, and
appreciate your efforts :) Lets keep recruiting and get those numbers up...

On one final note, I just want to ask all of you to keep up communications
through the message board and mail list. Communication is an essential part
of a succesful squad, so post and mail away! And if you have time, try and
fly as much as possible, I really would like to catch Hammer for once in the
WCO competition. Don't forget about our Training competition either!!

Until next time,

*SALUTE*
